陕西耀州人，字敬叔，号三石。嘉靖十七年进士。累迁四川佥事、湖广提学副使。二十九年任河南参政。时俺答犯京师，调募纷纭，世宁无不立办。迁四川按察使，以丁忧归，后曾累荐，不起。世宁强学好问，至老不倦。有《丘隅集》。
