译文
船帆轻挂，大桨急飞，过了一城又一城，到了严子陵垂钓的江滨。喝酒过度，必成病态，以至郁闷而精神空虚。只有依靠枕头，听那大桨发出的叫声可资慰藉，极为悲痛的断肠游子型的外任官苏轼，眼前闪现着的是丛列成行的云雾缭绕的山峰，烟雨重重笼罩的树林。回过头去看，桐庐县城在哪里呢？已经看不到了。
但是顷刻之间就要离开了，分别的愁绪更加使人变得憔悴。那就只有从朝云暮雨的巫山男女欢会的神话梦幻中寻求解脱。不论旧愁还是新欢，对山村的思念也没有了。不大可能再看到山村人了，但是对他们的痴情和思念没变。只有求别人带去一首词。
注释
祝英台近：词牌名。又名《宝钗分》、《月底修箫谱》、《燕莺语》、《寒食词》。双调77字，有平韵、仄韵两体。
钓台路：钓鱼台水路。钓台，指东汉.严子陵垂钓处，在浙江桐庐城西十五公里的富春江滨。
攲（yǐ）枕：依靠枕头。
鸣舻（lú）：发出叫声的大桨。
簇簇：丛列成行的样子。
孤城：指桐庐县城。
闲：顷刻。
离阻：分离，阻隔。
萦损：愁思郁结而憔悴。
云雨：比喻男女欢会。
无由：没有办法。
犹自：尚，依然是。
倩人：恳求别人。
道：同“蹈”，赴。
传语：把一方的话传到另一方。

祝英台近·挂轻帆创作背景
熙宁六年（1073年）二月。苏轼在杭州通判任上，视察富阳、新城、风水洞、桐庐，过严陵濑（tǎ）后返回杭州，作该词哀叹民生的多艰。

祝英台近·挂轻帆鉴赏
上片以景情反差的手法，反映了苏轼胸中的忧愁。“挂轻帆，飞急桨，还过钓台路”，写出了苏轼在富春江上轻快行程的生动形态。一个“挂”字，一个“飞”字，有“轻舟已过万重山”之势，形象传神。“酒病无聊，攲枕听鸣舻”，写苏轼醉卧船上的情景。颇似金代元好问《读书山月》“墙东有洿（wū）池，攲枕听蛙鸣”的神韵。“断肠簇簇云山，重重烟树”，情绪一变。以醉眼朦胧中的景物托情，流露出苏轼渺茫的孤独感。“簇簇”、“重重”，将沉郁心绪衬托得十分逼真。“回首望，孤城何处？”用设问手法，进一步渲染苏轼对桐庐山村哪堪回首的忧叹。那是一幅凄苦的生活景象。
下片承上一转，写苏轼欲摆脱愁情而又无可奈何，只得从神话梦幻中去寻找慰藉。“闲离阻，谁念萦损襄王，何曾梦云雨”，写苏轼顷刻离开钓台的沉思，但又被现实阻碍，愁思更加抑郁，人面显得憔悴。有宋代欧阳修《怨春郎》词“恼愁肠，成寸寸，已凭莫把人萦损”的滋味。“旧恨前欢，心事两无据”，不论过去了的旧愁也好，还是昔日的新欢也好，内心里对山村的挂记两不存在。“要知欲见无由，痴心犹自，倩人道、一声传语”。这一句承承接上面一句，体现出苏轼的挂念之情深入一层。想再一次去看看山村人吧，不大可能了。然而一片痴情依然不改初衷。唯有恳求他人前去捎首词。
全词把欢景与愁情、现实与历史、人世与梦幻、意境与哲理有机地融为一体，思想开放，想象丰富，反映了苏轼的悯民思想，是一篇具有现实主义意义的作品。

苏轼（1037－1101），北宋文学家、书画家、美食家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。汉族，四川人，葬于颍昌（今河南省平顶山市郏县）。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为“唐宋八大家”之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡“士人画”。著有《苏东坡全集》和《东坡乐府》等。
