明南直隶扬州人，字先民。弱冠善辞赋，性放荡不羁，从季父游京师，日醉市楼，挟妓走马。大将军麻贵阅兵，醇轻裘快马，驰突演武场，引弓破的，矢矢相连属，又舞双剑如飞。大将军欲用之。笑谓：“家本书生，聊用游戏耳。”后归扬州慈云庵为僧。有诗集，深情孤诣，秀句错出，澄怀观道，超然有得。
