秋水瀰烟谷，川光入画图。远山横黛色，林树正扶苏。
是谁槃礴丹青手，驱云掣电龙蛇走。青冥浩荡不可穷，万顷玻璃当户牖。
绝壁崩崖雨后新，惊涛日日伴游人。人间草舍依村树，水上云深隔比邻。
江头牙樯如榔密，奔波愈下无回日。谁知中有扣舷者，缓楫安流心自逸。
慷慨中流发浩歌，天地万物如渠何。冯夷击鼓鼍为导，灵胥水面空婆娑。
君不见湘山大风不得渡，刑徒三千亦何怒。又不见滟滪堆前争喧豗，矢尽剑折夫何为。
乃知画师有深意，颓波涨里藏其智。一棹孤舟尺素中，洗尽人间名与利。
名与利，如轻蘋，风波逐逐徒伤神。所以高明仗忠信，济川有术通玄津。
速不足喜，迟何足嗔。彼岸登时同是到，稳作中流自在人。

郑廷鹄，字元侍，号一鹏，琼山人。明世宗嘉靖十七年（一五三八）探花。授工部主事，调仪制郎，升吏科给事中，晋工科左给事，擢江西提学，迁江西参政。以母老乞归，筑室石湖，著书自娱，累荐不起。祀乡贤。著有《藿脍集》、《兰省集》、《掖垣集》、《学台集》、《石湖集》。明郭棐《粤大记》卷一九、清雍正《广东通志》卷四六、清道光《广东通志》卷三○二等有传。郑廷鹄诗，以明陈是集编《溟南诗选》（民国二十年海口海南书局印行）卷二所收郑诗为底本，参校同年海口海南书局印行《海南丛书》第六册所收之《石湖遗集》。集外诗附于后。
