谷继宗（生卒年不详） 字嗣兴，号少岱。明代济南人。幼年家贫却勤奋好学，常去寺庙拣取未燃尽的木条，由母亲捆扎成束，供其晚上读书照明之用。正德八年（1513年）乡试中举，嘉靖五年（1526年）中进士。一生穷困潦倒，仕途坎坷，积忧成疾，导致双目失明。为避乡人，赴章丘投奔好友李开先。章丘士人闻之，纷纷携带礼品前去慰问，与之切磋诗文。居章丘三个月就作诗数百首，赠李开先的律诗长达170句。后幸遇良医，以针刺目，从而复明。卒于宜兴知县任上。
