大名府浚县人，字少楩，一字子木。国子监生。才高，好使酒骂座。工古文，不喜为八股，故屡试不利。负才忤知县，被诬杀人，系狱数年。谢榛为奔走京师诉冤，及知县易人，始获平反。终以积习难改，落魄卒。有《蠛蠓集》。
