姚愈，字次韩，常熟（今属江苏）人（清康熙《常熟县志》卷一一）。高宗绍兴二十七年（一一五七）进士。光宗绍熙五年（一一九四）为司农寺丞（《止斋集》卷一八《诸王宫大小学教授姚愈除司农寺丞》）。宁宗庆元二年（一一九六）为殿中侍御史兼侍讲（《宋会要辑稿》职官六之七一）。三年，迁右谏议大夫（同上书职官七四之一）。官终御史中丞。事见《琴川志》卷八。今录诗二首。
