芮烨(1115—1172)，字仲蒙，一字国器，（即芮国器）乌程（今湖州）人。与其弟芮煇力学起家，宋绍兴十八年(1148)同中进士，后又同入太学，号“二芮”。初仕为仁和(今杭州)尉。当地长河堰有一龙王庙，每次祭祀均有蛇出，或毁香炉，或饮尽杯中之酒，每年都有人伤亡，人皆以为是龙所为。传芮烨到任后，特意焚香设奠，蛇窜出，芮烨历数其罪，诛于堂前。
