译文
我送你东归，相别之时，泪水沾湿了衣襟戍守天涯的人只我一个没有回归。
封将军兵败被削官，我又将依靠谁呢？
梦里来到一片湖水山光十分开阔之处，家书写好了，却难觅凭寄的大雁。
幸好你我两家庭院邻近，你如今回去正好顺路帮我捎份家书。
注释
四镇：即安西四镇：龟兹、焉耆、于阗、疏勒。薛侍御：生平不详。
门客：僚属，此处为诗人自指。
书：书信。陇雁：飞越陇山传递家书的大雁。相传大雁善传书信。典出《汉书·苏武传》。
柴扉：柴门，这是岑参自指己家。

送四镇薛侍御东归鉴赏
这首诗作于公元755年（天宝十四年）或756年（天宝十五年），封常清兵败削官之后，诗人感到更加孤单，无所依靠，因而诗中多漂泊之意。
当时，安史之乱初起，天下为之骚动，边塞也不得安宁。在此人心惶惶之际，久居塞外的诗人自然黯然神伤，更兼送友东归，孑然自处，因此说“相送泪沾衣，天涯独未归”。诗人供职封常清幕府颇见任用，可是如今封常清兵败洛阳，被削去官职，诗人不由有物伤其类、痛失知己之感，故曰“将军初得罪，门客复何依”，觉得无所依傍，孤单伶仃。意即路途遥远，信息难通，愁郁之情无可排遣。“园林幸接近，一为到柴扉”两句是诗人强自安慰之语，实则是心伤故人远去后，自己将更加孤独，思乡之情将更加浓烈。全诗言辞凝滞，愁肠百结。读来感人肺腑，令人满目凄然。

岑参（约715-770年），唐代边塞诗人，南阳人，太宗时功臣岑文本重孙，后徙居江陵。[1-2] 岑参早岁孤贫，从兄就读，遍览史籍。唐玄宗天宝三载（744年）进士，初为率府兵曹参军。后两次从军边塞，先在安西节度使高仙芝幕府掌书记；天宝末年，封常清为安西北庭节度使时，为其幕府判官。代宗时，曾官嘉州刺史（今四川乐山），世称“岑嘉州”。大历五年（770年）卒于成都。
