九月的天山脚下寒风似刀，城南出猎的马儿缩着寒毛。
赵将军比赛骑射场场获胜，赢得那单于穿的貂鼠皮袍。
注释
赵将军：未详。闻一多考证认为是疏勒守捉使赵宗玼，后继封常宿任北庭节度使。
城南：庭州城南郊野。猎马：出猎的马。
纵：放任自己。博：这里指古代军中较量骑射和勇力的一种游戏。
貂（diāo）鼠袍：用貂鼠皮做成的暖裘。貂鼠，即貂，体细长，色黄或紫黑，皮毛极轻暖珍贵。
赵将军歌创作背景
唐天宝十三载（754年），诗人赴北庭都护府任职于封常清军幕。这时候是岑参边塞诗创作最活跃的时期。《赵将军歌》就是这个时期的名作之一。

诗一开头先展现了一幅寒风凛冽的边塞图。深秋时分，在寒冷的天山脚下，北风夹着严寒，犹如利刀一般砭人肌骨。这里用“似刀”来渲染寒风刺骨，风之劲急，天气之严寒，把“风似刀”和“九月”联系起来，形成反差，这样，将边塞生活环境就渲染得更艰苦了。“九月”于中原来说，正是秋高气爽，边塞就已是“风似刀”了。“城南”一句，写很能耐寒的猎马，在寒风中冻得缩缩瑟瑟，进一步将寒风凛冽的气氛，从效应上作了生动的渲染。
这两句诗，还没有正面写赵将军，只是渲染环境、渲染气氛，为赵将军的活动，描绘了一个无比艰苦的环境，以衬托赵将军的威武英勇。
后两句构思巧妙，比喻新颖。诗人用赌博来比喻战斗，手法新颖。岑参在诗中以“纵”来形容“博”，可以使人想象赵将军豪放的英雄气概。苦斗沙场，何等艰辛，而赵将军纵情驰骋于其中，视之如同方桌上的一场赌博游戏，表现出无比豪迈的气魄。“场场胜”，“赌得”“貂鼠袍”，显得如此轻松、潇洒。这里，作者似乎展现了赵将军手提大刀，刀尖挑着单于的貂袍拍马而回的轻盈身影。这里所写同前两句严寒艰苦的环境联系起来，在如此艰难困难环境下，却赢得如此轻松潇洒自如，赵将军的英勇善战就得到完美的表现。全诗语言朴素生动，场面旷远开阔，情调欢乐昂扬。

岑参（约715-770年），唐代边塞诗人，南阳人，太宗时功臣岑文本重孙，后徙居江陵。[1-2] 岑参早岁孤贫，从兄就读，遍览史籍。唐玄宗天宝三载（744年）进士，初为率府兵曹参军。后两次从军边塞，先在安西节度使高仙芝幕府掌书记；天宝末年，封常清为安西北庭节度使时，为其幕府判官。代宗时，曾官嘉州刺史（今四川乐山），世称“岑嘉州”。大历五年（770年）卒于成都。
