稻粱已足够养活你那些小鸡，你还在斗鸡场妒敌自鸣得意。
可要五更司晨唱晓叫人早起，不辞风雪为召唤朝阳而喔啼。
注释
⑴赋得：借古人诗句或成语命题作诗。诗题前一般都冠以“赋得”二字。鸡：指斗鸡。此喻唐时藩镇割据势力相互争斗。
⑵稻粱：指鸡饲料。雏（chú）：小鸡。
⑶妒敌专场：指斗鸡彼此敌视，都想斗倒对方，独占全场。
⑷可要：岂要，岂愿。晓梦：指清晨时的美梦。
⑸辞：避开。阳乌：传说太阳中有三足鸟，比喻君王。
赋得鸡创作背景
唐武宗会昌三年（843）八月，唐朝廷下令诸道进讨刘稹。在讨叛诸军中，有些人本身就是割据者或半割据者。他们之间矛盾重重，相互猜忌，对朝廷的命令消极应付，行动迟缓。如魏博镇何弘敬曾为刘稹辩解奏雪，且久不出师。此篇即是作者目睹如此种种针对上述现象而发。

赋得鸡鉴赏
《战国策·秦策》说：“诸侯不可一，犹连鸡不能俱止于栖亦明矣。”用缚在一起的鸡喻互相牵制不能一致的诸侯割据势力。此篇取这一比喻加以生发，借以揭露当时的藩镇。诗的头两句说：鸡的稻梁食料已足以养活其幼雏，但它们却互不相容，以独霸全场为乐。比喻藩镇虽割据世袭，或已高宫厚禄，荫及子孙，但仍为各自私利而彼此敌视，相互火并。“可要五更惊稳梦，不辞风雪为旧乌？”这两句是说：鸡的本心岂愿在五更时惊扰自己的酣梦，不辞风雪报晓，以迎接太阳的升起呢？比喻藩镇虽有时在表面上秉承朝命，但本心并不愿意为朝廷效力。
这首诗借鸡为喻，揭露藩镇跋扈利己、贪婪好斗的本质。结合唐武宗会昌年问讨伐刘稹时的情况看，这首诗具有强烈的现实针对性。诗中抓住鸡的特性，联系藩镇的种种表现，或直接讽刺，或进行反挑，虽不免有比附的痕迹，但由于诗人对讽刺对象的本质发掘较深，却能以犀利辛辣取胜。这首诗充分表示出对藩镇割据势力的愤懑，体现了诗人坚持统一、反对分裂的迫切要求。

李商隐，字义山，号玉溪（谿）生、樊南生，唐代著名诗人，祖籍河内（今河南省焦作市）沁阳，出生于郑州荥阳。他擅长诗歌写作，骈文文学价值也很高，是晚唐最出色的诗人之一，和杜牧合称“小李杜”，与温庭筠合称为“温李”，因诗文与同时期的段成式、温庭筠风格相近，且三人都在家族里排行第十六，故并称为“三十六体”。其诗构思新奇，风格秾丽，尤其是一些爱情诗和无题诗写得缠绵悱恻，优美动人，广为传诵。但部分诗歌过于隐晦迷离，难于索解，至有“诗家总爱西昆好，独恨无人作郑笺”之说。因处于牛李党争的夹缝之中，一生很不得志。死后葬于家乡沁阳（今河南焦作市沁阳与博爱县交界之处）。作品收录为《李义山诗集》。
