译文
春雨过后，天空放晴，春分天气，一派好风光。百花盛开，万紫千红，争奇斗艳。画梁之上，刚归来的燕子，出双入对。玉笼里的鹦鹉却在发愁自己孤独眠睡。
薜荔香草爬上了墙面，莓苔绿藓铺满了地面，远处的青楼断断续续地传过来清丽的歌声。想起过去的事情不禁沉默无言，眉头紧皱，远山眉色变成了青绿。
注释
踏莎行：词牌名，又名《喜朝天》、《柳长春》、《踏雪行》、《平阳兴》、《踏云行》、《潇潇雨》等。双调小令，五十八字，上下片各三仄韵。四言双起，例用对偶。
雨霁：雨过天晴。
春分：二十四节气之一。每年在公历3月20或21日。此日，太阳直射赤道，南北半球昼夜长短平分，故称。
画梁：有彩绘装饰的屋梁。
玉笼：玉饰的鸟笼。亦用为鸟笼的美称。
薜（bì）荔：常绿藤本植物。又称木莲。
莓苔：青苔。
青楼：妓院。
眉山：形容女子秀丽的双眉。

踏莎行创作背景
约皇祜末年任夷陵县令时作。欧阳修对女性的心理有颇深体会，他以相当谅解的同情心描写女性的心情，而不是只把她们当成艺术品去欣赏。

踏莎行鉴赏
是词写春愁。前阕写“春分天气”的明媚景色，但也以成双的燕子反衬孤眠的鹦鹉春景，成为对比强烈的两个具象，象征主人公的孤独。后阕写闺妇。特写居所周围的春天景色。“薜荔依墙，莓苔满地”的荒芜景象同上片的明丽春景退然不同，这也是使观赏者思旧的契执。青楼的歌声，勾起了主人公对旧事的回忆，“旧事”，既有甜蜜的，亦有苦涩的，这里当指苦涩的，指心上人沉迷于游冶，不时到青楼寻欢作乐，感慨自己正如“玉笼鹦鹉愁孤睡”，“敛皱眉山”就是明证。
在这首词中，春分时节的明媚风光跃然纸上：百花盛开，新燕归来，还有依墙而长的薜荔，遍生满地的莓苔。然而，哪知青楼的歌声引来愁绪，可惜了这美挥的“春风时光？”一词人由景到情，情景交融，借春分节道出难言的心境。先咏春日韶景，后叹浮云旧事，字面上是在说新燕鹦鹉，青藤苔蔓，实际上分明是一个孤寂冷清的场景，是在比喻自己孤独的命运。

欧阳修（1007－1072），字永叔，号醉翁，晚号“六一居士”。汉族，吉州永丰（今江西省永丰县）人，因吉州原属庐陵郡，以“庐陵欧阳修”自居。谥号文忠，世称欧阳文忠公。北宋政治家、文学家、史学家，与韩愈、柳宗元、王安石、苏洵、苏轼、苏辙、曾巩合称“唐宋八大家”。后人又将其与韩愈、柳宗元和苏轼合称“千古文章四大家”。
