译文
濛濛细雨中，戏游池塘的鸳鸯，成双捉对，相偎相依，好像在缠绵私语，互诉心曲。池塘边开满了缤纷灿烂的野花，散发着阵阵清香；一缕缕金黄的柳丝，在春雨中随风摇曳，轻轻拂动。一群天真烂漫、体态婀娜、步履轻盈的少女，从坐落江岸的村舍里走来，她们三三两两，在春雨初霁的溪边，欢快地舞着，唱着。那艳丽缤纷的罗衣，随着舞姿的变幻，闪耀出绚烂的光彩；那脂粉薄敷的面颊，在霞光的映衬下，焕发出如云般的娇艳红润。

菩萨蛮·霏霏点点回塘雨鉴赏
上片描写雨中池塘景色，中心在“双双只只鸳鸯语”。起句的霏霏细雨及歇拍的“灼灼野花”、“依依金柳”，全在于烘托那戏游池塘的“双双只只鸳鸯”，而上片景物的描写，目的是映衬下片“盈盈江上女”的美丽。她们体态婀娜，舞姿轻盈；罗衣飘逸，光彩闪耀；面施薄粉，艳若云霞。在这里，大自然的美与少女们的美和谐地融为一体，而且相互映发——明媚的春景，把少女们烘托得格外妖娆；少女们的娇姿艳态，又为春天增添了无限光彩。上片的绘景，为下片的写人烘托气氛，景愈艳则人愈丽。
这首词在艺术上的另一大特点，就是每句都用叠字开头，不仅摹景写人细致生动，而且声调抑扬谐婉，极富音乐性。这一借鉴诗歌创作的艺术手法，开了五代两宋之后文人词运用叠字的先河。在宋人词里，句句用叠字与此首相近者，有葛立方的《卜算子》：“袅袅水芝红，脉脉蒹葭浦。淅淅西风淡淡烟，几点疏疏雨。草草展杯觞，对此盈盈女。叶叶红衣当酒船，细细流霞举。
周密《草窗词评》赞此首《卜算子》“用十八叠字，妙手无痕，堪与李清照《声声慢》并绝千古”。其实，“堪与李清照《声声慢》并绝千古”的岂只葛氏之《卜算子》，这首《菩萨蛮》每句句头用叠字，且用得如此贴切自然，亦堪称千古并绝。
