南国无霜霰，连年见物华。
青林暗换叶，红蕊续开花。
春去闻山鸟，秋来见海槎。
流芳虽可悦，会自泣长沙。
经梧州鉴赏
据《新唐书》记载，宋之问从泷州（今广东罗定）逃回后，又投靠了当政的武三思，谄事太平公主，于景龙中迁升为考功员外郎。后安乐公主权盛，他又往谐结，太平公主深恨之。当中宗将提拔他为中书舍人时，太平公主便揭发了他知贡举时受贿赂，于是下迁汴州（今河南省开封）长史，未行改越州（今浙江绍兴）长史。之问在越州期间尚致力为政，且颇有政绩。但公元709年（景龙三年）旧历六月，中宗崩；公元710年（景云元年）睿宗即位，认为他曾附张易之、武三思，“狯险盈恶”诏流钦州（今广西钦州县）。
宋之问在唐睿宗即位的第二年春天到达桂林，同年秋天起程继续前往流放地钦州（今广西钦州县）。他乘船从漓江、桂林顺流而下，经梧州再溯浔江而上，沿途有感秀丽江山，写出了一些佳绝的旅游诗篇，如《下桂江县黎壁》、《下桂江龙目滩》、《发藤州》等，抒发了对祖国大好山河无比热爱之情怀。《经梧州》便是其中的一首。
首联“南国无霜霰，连年见物华”，五岭以南被称作南国，这里指梧州。概括地叙述了梧州的地理环境、气候物产的特征。物华：万物之菁华。《滕王阁序》有：“物华天宝，龙光射牛斗之圩。”梧州四季如春，万物都免受霜雪之寒，常年孕育着勃勃生机。两句诗的意境广阔，生机盎然。颔联承“物华”，着意点染景色：“青林暗换叶，红蕊续开花”。不必等候春天来临，青叶就在不知不觉中一次次生出新叶，红色的花蕊在接连不断的开放，这些都是在四季分明的中原看不到的。“暗换”、“续开”生动地表现出梧州的气候特征。它不同于北国的春枝新绿，夏木荫荫，秋叶飘零，冬雪冰封。颈联“春去闻山鸟，秋来见海槎”，梧州依山傍水，春天雏鸟新生，鸟鸣口宛啭。秋天江帆悠悠。他一个流放的远役的罪人，眼前这自由自在的欣欣向荣的景象不禁使他神伤。所以他不禁发出了“流芳虽可悦，会自泣长沙”的无可奈何的叹息。流芳这里指的是南荒的美好景色，“泣长沙”用的是西汉贾谊的典故，表明自己在流放中。面对着令人喜悦的美景，触目伤情，结尾如水到渠成，十分自然。
宋之问在梧州的时间很短暂，但他此前在泷州（今广东罗定县）任参军一年有余。罗定就在梧州的东南面，那里的自然风光当与梧州近似。他这首南国风情十足的诗篇，语言明白如话，用典自然入化。动词与虚字用得非常精当，加之偶句为流水对，音节流畅优美。宋之问因“媚附二张”，品行颇遭后人非议，历来人们对其被贬多不表同情。但宋之问集中的一些好诗大多是写于遭贬斥流放之际，此类诗的一大特点是语言平实自然，不矫揉造作，皆其内心情感的真实流露。诗人一旦远离京城，步出宫廷台阁而跋涉江岭，摆脱了宫廷词臣的身份束缚，从而恢复了其独立的主体人格和自我思维，故其诗作远非昔日应制奉和之作可比。贬官生涯成就了宋之问，使他得以有更多的好诗传世。
