译文
往昔出仕远行役，直到遥遥东海边。
道路漫长无尽头，途中风浪时阻拦。
谁使我来作远游？似为饥饿所驱遣。
竭尽全力谋一饱，稍有即足用不完。
恐怕此行毁名誉，弃官归隐心悠闲。
注释
远游：指宦游于远地。东海隅（yú）：东海附近。这里当指曲阿，在今江苏省丹阳县。
迥（jiōng）：远。“风波”句：因遇风浪而被阻于中途。涂，同“途”。
然：如此，这样。为饥所驱：被饥饿所驱使。
倾身：竭尽全身力气；全力以赴。营：谋求。少许：一点点。
非名计：不是求取名誉的良策。息驾：停止车驾，指弃官。

陶渊明（约365年—427年），字元亮，（又一说名潜，字渊明）号五柳先生，私谥“靖节”，东晋末期南朝宋初期诗人、文学家、辞赋家、散文家。汉族，东晋浔阳柴桑人（今江西九江）。曾做过几年小官，后辞官回家，从此隐居，田园生活是陶渊明诗的主要题材，相关作品有《饮酒》、《归园田居》、《桃花源记》、《五柳先生传》、《归去来兮辞》等。
