苑边花外，记得同朝退。飞骑轧，鸣珂碎。齐歌云绕扇，赵舞风回带。严鼓断，杯盘狼藉犹相对。
洒泪谁能会？醉卧藤阴盖。人已去，词空在。兔园高宴悄，虎观英游改。重感慨，波涛万顷珠沉海。
千秋岁·苑边花外译文及注释
译文
秦少游被贬官，曾经在梦中作词，词中说：“醉卧在古藤树荫下，了然不知南北。”（友人秦观）竟于元符庚辰年在光华亭中去世。崇宁甲胄年间，我来到宜州，途中路过衡阳。我看了秦观的遗迹，开始追和他的《千秋岁》一词。
还记得，在小园边的百花丛外，我们一同退朝。马儿飞驰，马头的玉饰敲击作响。宴会上，歌声像云，在羽扇旁萦绕，舞蹈像风，在丝带间回旋。急促的鼓声突然停歇，杯盘放得乱七八糟，我们仍相对欢笑。
就算挥洒泪水，我们又怎能再会？只得醉卧在如伞盖般的藤阴。友人离去了，唯有词空空地还在。朝中的美宴不复，我们四人的郊游的时光也不再。再感慨，愁绪如万顷波涛中的小珠，沉入深海。
注释
千秋岁：词牌名，“念奴娇”的别称。一百字。前片四十九字；后片五十一字，各十句四仄韵。此令宜于抒写豪迈感情。
元符庚辰：元符三年（公元1100年）。
藤州：州治在广西藤县。
崇宁甲申：崇宁三年（公元1104年）。
珂：马笼头的装饰。
严鼓：急促的鼓声。
兔园：汉梁孝王园，指代朝廷。
虎观：汉宫中讲论经学之所。后泛指宫廷中讲学处。
英游：英俊之辈；才智杰出的人物。

千秋岁·苑边花外创作背景
这是一首悼念故人的词。据词的序文，可知这首词作于公元1104年（宋徽宗崇宁三年）。当时黄庭坚被贬宜州，经过衡阳，秦观的好友、衡州知州孔毅甫处，见到了秦观的遗作《千秋岁》词。黄庭坚追和《千秋岁》词时，距离秦观之死已经五年。

千秋岁·苑边花外鉴赏
词的上片写朝为官时的欢乐。开头两句从退朝以后说起：“飞骑轧，鸣珂碎”，写出了他们退朝以后联骑奔驰的快意情状。“齐歌”两句写他们公余之暇的征歌逐舞，有动听的歌声，有婀娜的舞姿。他写这些，主要是表现他们得意时期的深契豪情。“严鼓断”两句里，可以想象得到，他们酒酣耳热之际，会纵谈国家大事，会谈诗论文，如果有他们的老师苏东坡座的话，气氛会更加活跃，一定是庄谐杂出，议论风起。可惜政治风云的突然变化，改变了他们的生活。公元1094年（绍圣元年），章执政，元祐党人都被贬官，他和秦敦等人观连遭贬谪，不复相见。
词的下片写他对秦观的沉痛悼念。“洒泪谁能会”表明自己的哀苦心情没有人能够领会，其实他的哀苦心情是不难领会的，他是悼念秦观，实际上也是自悲自悼。秦观已死，坟有宿草，而他仍奔赴贬所途中，岂能久生！他追和秦词的次年亦即崇宁四年九月三十日，果然死宜州。“醉卧藤阴盖”，用的是秦观《好事近》词中的句子。由秦观的词，想到了秦观的死，他感叹“人已去”而“词空”，言外之意是对秦观之死，表示痛惜。“兔园”两句里，更强烈地表露出他的痛惜心情。“高宴”之所以“悄”，“英游”之所以“改”，是因为秦观已不人间。他赞赏秦观的学识与才华。秦观之死，对他来说，是失去了一位交谊深厚的朋友，秦观死的时候才五十一岁，是无情的政治风波吞没了他的生命。“重感慨，波涛万顷珠沉海。”秦观的死，使他感慨百端。这是全词的警句，集中地表现出他的沉痛情绪。
这首追和秦观的《千秋岁》词，是非常老成的作品。感情深沉郁勃，上片的欢乐，与下片的悲愤，形成强烈的对比，反映出政治局面的重大变化，从中抒发出悼念故人的深情，同时也表露出自己的身世之感，切身之痛。“波涛万顷珠沉海”和秦词末句“落红万点愁如海”相比，不相伯仲，比起孔毅甫和词末句“仙山杳杳空云海”，却又要劲健、形象得多。

黄庭坚（1045.8.9-1105.5.24），字鲁直，号山谷道人，晚号涪翁，洪州分宁（今江西省九江市修水县）人，北宋著名文学家、书法家，为盛极一时的江西诗派开山之祖，与杜甫、陈师道和陈与义素有“一祖三宗”（黄庭坚为其中一宗）之称。与张耒、晁补之、秦观都游学于苏轼门下，合称为“苏门四学士”。生前与苏轼齐名，世称“苏黄”。著有《山谷词》，且黄庭坚书法亦能独树一格，为“宋四家”之一。
