译文
碛南沙上的烽火，一次次把雁群惊飞起，像千里飞雪漫卷戈壁。连环弩，金簇藜，年年征战箭如雨。画楼中的美人，也恨这战火中的别离，愁时看着红杏花，独坐锦屏前。
注释
⑴蕃女怨，词牌名，为温庭筠所创，《金奁集》入“南吕宫”，七句三十一字，四仄韵，两平韵。
⑵碛（qì）：浅水中的沙石，这里指边塞荒漠之地。
⑶玉连环：征人服饰物。《战国策·齐策》：“秦昭王尝遣使者，遗君王后以玉连环。”这里是指征人的用具，如铁链之类的东西。
⑷金镞（zú）箭：装有金属箭头的箭。镞，箭头。
⑸锦屏：有彩画的屏风。

蕃女怨·碛南沙上惊雁起鉴赏
这首《蕃女怨》写来并不见一点“蕃”味，仍是一般的思妇词。这首词写边塞的寒冷和艰苦，使思妇对GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>征人倍增思念。也有人认为这首词是写GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>征人忆家。
此词开头两句“碛南沙上惊雁起，飞雪千里”，写边塞环境和气候的恶劣：沙碛荒漠，茫茫千里，大雪狂飘，塞雁惊飞。“玉连环，金镞箭，年年征战”，先写GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>征人的装束，续写征战之苦，战情之急。丈夫如此在边关服役，妻子必然思念和怨恨。结末二句，点明题旨：“画楼离恨锦屏空，杏花红。”战争使无数的妻子独守空房，画楼冷落，锦屏寂寞，尤其在杏花开放、春满人间的时候，更是令人肠断，魂断，唯有恨不断，泪不断。可谓曲尽人情。
就内容来说，此词并无新意，作者不是为了宣扬什么反战情绪，思妇的愁恨是一种纯真的感情，值得珍重与同情。这首词与《蕃女怨·万枝香雪开已遍》在内容和结构上有互补互衬的关系，阅读时可互相参照。
在温词中，此词属于较为浅直的作品，辞藻不算艳丽，含义也还显豁。但是仍具有某些深曲之作的特点：只客观地提供精美的物象情态，而隐去它们之间的表面联系，留下大片想象余地。像“画楼离恨锦屏空”与“杏花红”之间也未点明其关系。而这些物象情态的关系，很容易领悟出来，所以反而显得浅而不露，短而味永。

温庭筠（约812—866）唐代诗人、词人。本名岐，字飞卿，太原祁（今山西祁县东南）人。富有天才，文思敏捷，每入试，押官韵，八叉手而成八韵，所以也有“温八叉”之称。然恃才不羁，又好讥刺权贵，多犯忌讳，取憎于时，故屡举进士不第，长被贬抑，终生不得志。官终国子助教。精通音律。工诗，与李商隐齐名，时称“温李”。其诗辞藻华丽，秾艳精致，内容多写闺情。其词艺术成就在晚唐诸词人之上，为“花间派”首要词人，对词的发展影响较大。在词史上，与韦庄齐名，并称“温韦”。存词七十余首。后人辑有《温飞卿集》及《金奁集》。
