庾肩吾于梁时，尝作宫体谣引，以应和皇子。及国势沦败，肩吾先潜难会稽，后始还家。仆意其必有遗文，今无得焉，故作还自会稽歌以补其悲。

译文
庾肩吾在梁朝时，曾经作《宫体谣引》，用来奉命与皇子唱和。到了梁朝国势衰败，庾肩吾先是在会稽避难，后来才回家。我认为他一定会留下文章，现在却没有发现，因此作《还自会稽歌》来补写他的悲情。
块块霉斑把皇宫的墙壁弄得暗黄，成群的萤虫飞绕在梁国宫殿周旁。
他曾经是皇宫随侍奉命作诗的宠臣，如今却在秋寒被窝里把太子车辇梦想。
这位归来者的鬓发，点缀有吴地的寒霜，他的身躯将与秋塘蒲草一样衰老枯黄。
含情脉脉地辞别那京都皇宫，流亡的臣子厮守在贫困低贱的家乡。
注释
会（kuài）稽：在今浙江绍兴。
庾肩吾：字子慎，南阳新野（今属河南）人，世居江陵（今属湖北）。善诗，辞采甚美。萧纲当太子时，任东宫通事舍人。纲即位，任度支尚书。侯景叛乱，庾肩吾逃往会稽，后又转道回家，事见《梁书》、《南史》之《庾肩吾传》。
宫体谣引：诗篇名，今不传。宫体，梁萧纲喜作艳诗，以宫中女子为题材，大家仿效之，渐成风气，时称“宫体”。
应和皇子：奉命与皇子唱和诗歌。皇子，指萧纲，他未被立太子之前，封为晋安王。
国势沦败：这里指侯景叛乱，梁朝都城陷落等事件。国势，宋刊本、蒙古本、元本、《全唐诗》作“国世”。
椒壁：古代皇后居住的宫殿，常用椒和泥涂在壁上，温和芳香。
湿萤：萤生于潮湿的地方，故名。
台城：即朝廷所在地禁城。梁朝台城在建康（今江苏南京）。应教：臣子与诸位王子唱和诗作，称为“应教”。
铜辇：太子所乘坐的车。
塘蒲：一作“蒲塘”。
金鱼：宫门上鱼形锁钥。此处代指皇宫。
羁臣：放逐到外地的官员。迍（zhūn）贱：政治上遇到困厄危难，处于贱辱的地位。迍，通“屯”。

还自会稽歌创作背景
关于此诗的创作背景学界存有争议。钱仲联认为此诗创作时间为贞元二十一年（805年），时李贺十六岁。而朱自清在《李贺年谱》中把这首诗大体定为元和八年（813年）秋（李贺时为二十四岁）李贺以病辞奉礼郎，回到故乡昌谷时所作。

还自会稽歌鉴赏
诗前小序，交代诗人为庾肩吾补作《宫体谣引》的缘由，说明诗篇抒写庾肩吾“潜难会稽”后的悲伤感受。
诗的开头两句描写宫廷荒凉的情景，壁上的椒粉已经发黄，成为野粉，宫殿里飞满湿萤，已经荒废，一派凄凉景象，正是“国势沦败”的艺术写照。三四句梦忆东宫生活，我本是台城里和皇子唱和诗歌的人，现在秋夜里还常梦见太子的车辇。诗的后半首，叙述肩吾愁苦衰老的近况，表达出甘守屯贱的意愿。“吴霜”，应会稽地望，“塘蒲”，点身已衰老，回想起离开宫门时，依恋不舍，怀念君德，甘愿遭受危难贫贱，“心如砥柱”，绝不变心。全诗不言悲而悲意充溢字里行间。
诗人探寻梁代庾肩吾的前事，应是叹恨那些曾任东宫官而后遭贬斥的人。诗人生活的时代，曾震惊朝野而备受大家关注的事件，便是永贞革新，革新运动参与者之中，确有人曾任太子李诵的东宫官。诗人叹恨他们事业受挫败，命运困厄，不胜感伤，便运用“离绝远去笔墨畦径间”的诗句，抒发悲叹他们不幸遭际的情思。诗人不能无言，又不敢明言，便寓今托古，比物征事，从而形成长吉诗诡异独特的风貌。
杜牧为李贺诗集作叙，以此诗与《金铜仙人辞汉歌》为例，赞叹道：“贺能探寻前事，所以深叹恨古今未尝经道者。”这篇叙是诠解《还自会稽歌》的指导思想。李贺能从二百多年前的庚肩吾“潜难会稽”这件在别人看来极平凡的小事中，塑造了一个流落失意、但又不失刚劲之气的“羁臣”形象，并借以抒发了自己对世事多变的感伤和困顿潦倒中的悲愤之情，构思新颖，立意奇特。杜牧把李贺的这类诗作誉之为“古今未尝经道者”，评价是很高的。杜牧在叙中还说：“求取情状，离绝远去笔墨畦径间，亦殊不能知之。”但结合庾肩吾的遭遇和李贺的身世，还是能看出些端倪的。
这首诗写得含蓄深沉。庾肩吾是宫体诗的代表作家，但不能说这首摹想庾氏情事的作品就是继承了宫体诗的传统，也不能据此诗而说李贺对宫体诗作者的怀念和向往。李贺不过是借和晚年的庾肩吾“心有灵犀一点通”的处境，来抒发自己的忧愤罢了。

李贺（约公元791年-约817年），字长吉，汉族，唐代河南福昌（今河南洛阳宜阳县）人，家居福昌昌谷，后世称李昌谷，是唐宗室郑王李亮后裔。有“诗鬼”之称，是与“诗圣”杜甫、“诗仙”李白、“诗佛”王维相齐名的唐代著名诗人。著有《昌谷集》。李贺是中唐的浪漫主义诗人，与李白、李商隐称为唐代三李。有“‘太白仙才，长吉鬼才’之说。李贺是继屈原、李白之后，中国文学史上又一位颇享盛誉的浪漫主义诗人。李贺长期的抑郁感伤，焦思苦吟的生活方式，元和八年（813年）因病辞去奉礼郎回昌谷，27岁英年早逝。
