译文
何九又客住郴州郡城，就好像筑巢于林的候鸟。
收拾酒器宴席就将终结，仕宦之途却并没有完了。
山前明月空中天光正映，江河朗明高楼高阁破晓。
门前停靠大大小小的船只，行营往所深入松竹池瑶。
惜别之意寄来赠送于你，江中波纹随风潦潦绕绕。
注释
何九：名字里贯不详，时亦客郴州。
客：指何九。
桂阳：唐之郴州，隋为桂阳郡，在今湖南郴县。
巢林乌：喻何九之暂时牺止郴州。
罍（léi）觞（shāng）：酒器。
且：将。
功业会未了：谓任宦之途还没有结束。故下文有“门前泊舟楫”之语。
霁（jì）：雨雪过后天气放晴。
行次：行处。
此意：指惜别之意。
袅袅（niǎo）：秋风吹拂。

开元二十六年（738年）王昌龄被贬岭南，途经郴州，好友何九在客舍举行宴会为之接风送行，临别时诗人作此诗相赠。

王昌龄 (698— 756），字少伯，河东晋阳（今山西太原）人。盛唐著名边塞诗人，后人誉为“七绝圣手”。早年贫贱，困于农耕，年近不惑，始中进士。初任秘书省校书郎，又中博学宏辞，授汜水尉，因事贬岭南。与李白、高适、王维、王之涣、岑参等交厚。开元末返长安，改授江宁丞。被谤谪龙标尉。安史乱起，为刺史闾丘所杀。其诗以七绝见长，尤以登第之前赴西北边塞所作边塞诗最著，有“诗家夫子王江宁”之誉（亦有“诗家天子王江宁”的说法）。
