译文
心情惆怅心绪低落，醉后倚靠着绿绮之琴独自愁苦。满枕新愁无处倾诉，长夜将尽花香袭人月光照遍小楼。
隔壁不知是谁吹奏出急促的笙歌，把我这锦屏美梦相思之情吹走。只有这绿荫匝地的垂杨啊，不放秋千的影子越过墙头。
注释
减字木兰花：词牌名，唐教坊曲，双调四十四字，上下片各四句，两仄韵、两平韵，平仄韵互换。歌吹：歌唱和吹奏。词中偏指吹奏。
阑珊：纷乱的样子。此处形容人物情绪。
绿琴：绿绮琴，传说司马相如作《玉如意赋》，梁王悦之，赐以绿绮琴。后即用以指琴。
残夜：夜将尽。
繁笙（shēng）：谓笙声繁密。脆管：清脆的笛声。
锦屏：鲜艳华美的屏风。此处代指华贵的卧房。
秋千：一种体育活动用具。此处代指荡秋千的女子。

这首词的具体创作年代不详。这首词收于《忆云词》甲稿，是项鸿祚二十五岁前所写，为夜闻隔墙歌吹声有感而作之词。

作者家世巨富，而天生情种。但这首词中流露出来的愁绪，并非如晏殊《珠玉词》一般的闲愁、轻愁，而是沉挚的深愁。这是生命意识觉醒的标志，唯有真正热爱生命，真正认真生活的人，才会感觉到如此深重的愁情。他们太依恋春天的美好，也太担心春天的逝去，所以他们比平常人感受着更多的愁苦。
上片，作者从阑珊的春意写起，为读者描绘了—幅春夜愁思图。开头两句写作者感到春意阑珊，心绪惆伥。在酒醉后漫倚绿琴，四周一片寂寥，只有绿琴相伴。作者首先交待了时间、地点。时间已到了春末夏初时节，春花开始凋落，面对阑珊的春意，作者内心不禁涌起万般惆怅。项鸿祚是一个多愁善感的作者，正如他自己在自序中说的“生幼有愁癣”。故“其情艳而苦，其感于物也郁而深。”因此，在这样一个寂寥宁静的春夜，作者万般的愁绪无处排遣，只好借酒浇愁。但醉后的心境更是寂寥，于是只好以琴为伴，暂且用琴声慰藉一下孤寂的心情。这里的“相伴住”，形象地写出了作者想以琴排忧，却又心绪皆无的情景。“一枕新愁”二句，写作者夜深难眠，满腹愁绪。“残夜’’正是人们熟睡之际，而作者却嗅着庭院花香，看见满楼月色。这“残夜花香月满楼”句，暗示了作者难以成眠，使读者好像看到作者睁眼不寐沉思忧郁的形象。“一枕”句也生动地勾出作者愁绪绵绵，辗转反侧之状。“新愁”到底是什么，这里没有说，作者在下片才以含蓄的笔法暗示出来。
下片作者用含蓄的笔墨道出了这种“新愁"的由来。“繁重绝管，吹得锦屏春梦远”，终于道出了是隔墙邻居家繁杂的管弦乐声，把自己难成的春梦吹向了遥远的地方。从句子表面来看，似乎是比邻的弦管乐声搅得自己难以入睡，实际上，这只不过是作者的托词而已。真正的原因，是作者对隔墙佳人的思恋，才使得他卧不安席。这一点在结尾一句中含蓄地表现了出来。
“只有垂杨，不放秋千影过墙。”打秋千的女子，这才是作者为之辗转反侧而产生“一枕新愁”的根源。夜深人静，作者因相思而产生的种种愁绪却无法传递绐对方。因此，只好把这种哀怨发泄到了庭院中的垂杨上，仿佛那静静的垂杨也不解人意，偏偏挡住了作者的视线，从而使他连荡秋千的女子的影子也看不到。表达了作者对佳人深深的爱恋，却又无法向对方表达的惆怅与哀怨。
总之，这首词以其清新幽怨的风格，缠绵委婉的笔调，以情写景，景中寄情，抒发了作者内心真实的思想感情，读来令人感到真挚自然。

项鸿祚（1798～1835）清代词人。原名继章，后改名廷纪，字莲生。钱塘（今浙江杭州）人。道光十二年（1832）举人，两应进士试不第，穷愁而卒，年仅三十八岁。家世业盐筴，巨富，至君渐落。鸿祚一生，大似纳兰性德。他与龚自珍同时为“西湖双杰”。其词多表现抑郁、感伤之情，著有《忆云词甲乙丙丁稿》4卷，《补遗》1卷，有光绪癸巳钱塘榆园丛刻本。
