译文
雨过天晴，湖水荡漾，秋高气爽，泛舟度闲，最为适宜，撑船的竹竿被湖水刚刚漫过半截。从船上的红色栏杆看湖面照出了自己的衰颜华发。
喝醉了，一阵山溪秋风吹来，把头上的白纶巾吹落到湖中，湖水荡漾、月光流波。独自划船离去，任由烟雾笼罩的湖面飘摇不稳定。
注释
好事近：词牌名，又名《钓船笛》。
半篙初没：谓湖水刚刚漫过半根竹杆的深浅。篙（gāo）：撑船用的竹竿或木棍。
朱槛（jiàn）：船上的红色栏杆。鉴：镜子。这里指寒冷的湖水。
白纶（guān）巾：古时一种白色头巾，用青丝绦带制成。
漾（yàng）：水面动荡，摇漾。
棹（zhào）：划船的长桨。
飘兀（wù）：飘摇不稳定。

此词是词人夜中泛舟西湖感叹老无所成的郁闷心境而作，创作时间为宋哲宗元祐五年（1090年）九月。

上片先从游兴大发写起：“湖上雨晴时，秋天半篙初没。”雨过天晴，泛舟度闲，而当撑船的竹竿被湖水刚刚漫过半截的当儿，词人不禁把目光投向了平静如镜的湖面。然而，本拟忘掉个人得失的他，却骤然有一股忧思涌上心头：“朱槛俯窥寒鉴，照衰颜华发。”词人身体尚健壮，遇到高兴事儿时，常常忘记了自己的年龄，然而“日过当午”的心理阴影却时在脑海中闪动，一旦景物触发，会立刻强烈涌现。此时此地的词人，在游兴正浓的当口，从游船的朱红栏杆往水下俯看，发现了平静如镜的湖面映照出了自己的衰颜华发，不禁一阵悲凉从心底升起。
下片则极力表现词人萧疏冲淡，纯任自然的心境和情感。“醉中吹堕白纶巾，溪风漾流月。”在湖水荡漾、月光流波的恬适环境中，词人喝醉了，但不小心，一阵山溪秋风吹来，把头上的白纶巾吹落到湖中去了。写景如画，即景即情，景情合一，铺排自如。但是，昔日的京都翰林，今日外任幽独，其愁其苦，没有人能够知晓或领悟。于是，末二句推出了“独棹小舟归去，任烟波飘兀”的委婉心曲。表面旷达，一任浮生，而实际上，在“烟波飘兀”的感受中却涌动着忧思时事，感叹衰老无成的悲哀心绪。词人在溪风拂面、月光如水中深夜归舟，勾勒出了他彷徨孤独无所适从的自画像，给人以委抒心曲、意蕴流动的艺术感受，令人低回徘徊不已。
总起来说，此词以白描写意手法铺排全篇，表面平静疏淡，而内里起伏沸腾。在恬淡中含有忧思，在旷达中寓有执着，表现了词品与人品的统一，真善美的合谐与完整。

苏轼（1037－1101），北宋文学家、书画家、美食家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。汉族，四川人，葬于颍昌（今河南省平顶山市郏县）。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为“唐宋八大家”之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡“士人画”。著有《苏东坡全集》和《东坡乐府》等。
