水窗低傍画栏开，枕簟萧疏玉漏催。
夏日杂诗鉴赏
炎夏已逝，秋凉将至。“暑气微消秋意多”，爽身清凉的感觉，令人惬意称心。对此，历代诗人笔下都有喜气洋洋的吟咏。陈文述的这首诗，对秋凉降临的描绘别出心裁，创造了一个清丽奇趣的意境，令人难忘。“水窗低傍画栏开”，临水敞窗，这是感受秋凉最敏感的典型环境。“枕簟萧疏玉漏催”，簟，竹席。萧疏，凉爽之意。白居易诗云：“夜凉枕簟滑，秋燥衣巾轻。”秋凉爽身的快感，首先来自寝卧的枕席。讲得浅白，人人同感，倍增亲切。“一夜雨声凉到梦，万荷叶上送秋来”。这是两句别致精彩的好诗，荷叶上的雨声送来了秋意，一夜雨声把凉爽带入了梦境。凉到梦境，看似无理，实则多情。梦境犹凉，形容凉得温存，凉得亲昵，凉得体贴入微，凉得惬意称心。这两句诗对秋凉的描绘巧思奇妙，已入化境。元代盍西村《莲塘雨声》中有诗句云：“忽闻疏雨打新荷，有梦都惊破。”写的是荷上雨声，惊破好梦；陈文述写的是荷上雨声，为梦送凉，一动一静，悉成妙缔。
荷叶细雨，是诗人描写秋凉的钟情对象。你看，夏日将尽，“微雨过，小荷翻，榴花开欲燃”。（苏轼）初秋来临，“叶上初阳干宿雨，水面清圆，一一风荷举”。（周邦彦）秋夜方长，“秋阴不散霜飞晚，留得枯荷听雨声”。（李商隐）秋残冬至，“一夜绿荷霜剪破，赚他秋雨不成珠”。荷是秋色的使者，雨是凉意的先声，描写动人，全因情景贴切。意境创造的成功，全在景真意切，景真意切方能境丽情长。

陈文述（1771～1843）初名文杰，字谱香，又字隽甫、云伯，英白，后改名文述，别号元龙、退庵、云伯，又号碧城外史、颐道居士、莲可居士等，钱塘（今浙江杭州）人。嘉庆时举人，官昭文、全椒等知县。诗学吴梅村、钱牧斋，博雅绮丽，在京师与杨芳灿齐名，时称“杨陈”，著有《碧城诗馆诗钞》、《颐道堂集》等。
