译文
玉壶里结了一层光亮透明的寒冰，兽形香炉里的香料也已燃成灰烬。打开绣帘，眺望窗外，才发现夜里的一场大雪，将树木花丛点缀得晶莹透亮，不需要用剪刀裁剪。
洛阳的城阙凌空而起，高高低低遍布楼台，雪花仍如柳絮般在纷纷扬扬地下着，拂过马鞍，沾上衣袖，约完会的人感觉这回家的路恰似章台街呢。
注释
少年游：词牌名，始见于晏同叔《珠玉词》。又名少年游令、小阑干、玉腊梅枝。
兽炉：铸成兽形的香炉。
春丛：春季丛生的草木。
六花：雪花，因其结晶为六瓣，所以叫六花。
剪刀：喻春风。化用唐贺知章《咏柳》：“不知细叶谁裁出，二月春风似剪刀。”
拂鞍：拂过马鞍。
章街：章台街，汉代都城长安街名，街旁多植柳树。

少年游·玉壶冰莹兽炉灰鉴赏
上片从闺中人的视角咏雪，首先通过室内景写天气之寒冷，为下文咏雪作铺垫。“玉壶”句，室内的王壶上结了一层晶莹透亮的冰，取暖香炉内的香也烧成了灰烬。接着描写的视角由内而外。闺中女主人公起床掀开绣帘一看，只见雪花纷纷扬扬，不待剪刀裁剪，树上仿佛开满了洁白的六出花朵。这里词人巧妙化用唐诗“不知细叶谁裁出，二月春风似剪刀”及“忽如一夜春风来，千树万树梨花开”写大雪纷飞的样子，形象生动。
下片从冶游者的视角吟雪，首先从室外着笔。洛阳城中，城阙高耸，楼台高高低低、参差不齐。飘扬着的雪花似迎风飞舞的柳絮，有的拂过行人的马鞍，有的飘落在他的衣袖上。末句笔锋一转，说行人骑马过街的情形仿佛似走马章台街。章台街为冶游场所，这似乎在点明雪中行人的身份——冶游之人。
词作上下两片分别从闺中人和冶游者的角度写雪景，看似无联系，但一为居家候者，一为旅途归人，如此，则词中吟雪之时则包含闺怨之意。

欧阳修（1007－1072），字永叔，号醉翁，晚号“六一居士”。汉族，吉州永丰（今江西省永丰县）人，因吉州原属庐陵郡，以“庐陵欧阳修”自居。谥号文忠，世称欧阳文忠公。北宋政治家、文学家、史学家，与韩愈、柳宗元、王安石、苏洵、苏轼、苏辙、曾巩合称“唐宋八大家”。后人又将其与韩愈、柳宗元和苏轼合称“千古文章四大家”。
