晚风收暑，小池塘荷净。独倚胡床酒初醒。起徘徊、时有香气吹来，云藻乱，叶底游鱼动影。
空擎承露盖，不见冰容，惆怅明妆晓鸾镜。后夜月凉时，月淡花低，幽梦觉、欲凭谁省。且应记、临流凭阑干，便遥想，江南红酣千顷。

译文
傍晚的清风消除了白昼的热气，小池塘里荷叶静静地挺立。我从胡床上酒后醒来，独自在池塘边散步徘徊。微风不断吹来荷叶的清香，水草晃动，看得见荷叶下鱼儿游动的模样。眼前荷秆空空地举着它的叶片，而那冰清玉洁的荷花已难睹其面。我忧愁啊，荷花的模样已经如此这般，明晨怎堪化妆对镜去照容颜。夜深人静，月亮在充满凉意的空中穿行，月光惨淡、花朵低垂，犹如一个凄凉幽幻的梦境。这情景能有谁会理解，又有何人能够同情?也应记得，那临江手扶栏杆眺望的情景，江南湖面千顷，全是荷花的一片浓红。
注释
胡床：一种可以折叠的轻便坐具，也叫交椅、交床。由胡地传入，故名。
云藻乱、叶底游鱼动影：池塘中鱼的影子四处流动，打乱了水中云影与绿藻安静的姿态。
空擎承露盖：只剩下荷花的茎秆空举着残败的荷叶。
不见冰容：荷花已然凋谢。
临流凭阑干：靠着水边栏杆眺望流水。
江南红酣千顷：追忆江南水乡千顷荷花竞相开放的美景。

刘光祖[公元一一四二年至一二二二年]字德修，简州阳安人。生于宋高宗绍兴十二年，卒于宁宗嘉定十五年，年八十一岁，登进士第。除剑南东川节度推官。淳熙五年，（公元一一七八年）召对，论恢复事，除太学正。光宗时，为侍御史，极论道学所系。徙太府少卿，求去不已，除直秘阁潼川运判。后官至显谟阁直学士。卒，谥文节。光祖著有后溪集十卷，《宋史本传》传于世。
