译文
月光清澈如水，沐浴着高高的梧桐林。夜露润湿幽暗的秋草，宝钗楼外秋意正深。青苔沿着墙根伸展，忽见一个萤火虫坠下墙阴。静静地听着蟋蟀的叫声，断断续续，声声凄凉。它并不是为了寻求伴侣，而是殷勤地督促妇女织布做衣，可谓费尽了苦心。
曾记得孩提时，小伙伴相互招呼着，提着灯笼四处搜寻蟋蟀。端水灌进蟋蟀的洞穴里，又放轻脚步仔细听着，追寻逃跑蟋蟀的声音。任凭月光花影铺了满身，独自一个人也要追踪。将逮到的蟋蟀兴致勃勃地带到精美的厅堂参加戏斗，与他人的蟋蟀决一雌雄，亭台般的小笼小巧而涂金色。而今不必再度提起幼年趣事，雅兴已经没了。蟋蟀正在我的床下发出低吟，在寒冷的夜里陪伴着我这孤独的人哀叹悲吟。
注释
促织：蟋蟀。
漙（tuán）：露水多。
宝钗楼：唐宋时咸阳酒楼名。
土花：青苔，苔藓。
劝：催促。
机心：原指机巧功利之心。这里是说蟋蟀为“劝织”而煞费苦心。
灌穴：古时抓蟋蟀的一种方法，将水灌进蟋蟀穴，逼迫蟋蟀出来。
敛步：脚步很轻。
华堂：精美的厅堂。
亭台：指盛蟋蟀的笼子
笼巧妆金：因笼子小巧而涂金色。

满庭芳·促织儿创作背景
据姜夔《齐天乐》咏蟋蟀的小序，张鎡这首词是宋宁宗庆元二年（1196）在张达可家与姜夔会饮时，听到屋壁间蟋蟀声，两人同时写来交给歌者演唱的。

张鎡，字功甫，原字时可。因慕郭功甫，故易字功甫。号约斋。居临安，卜居南湖。循王张俊之曾孙。隆兴二年（1164），为大理司直。淳熙年间直秘阁通判婺州。庆元初为司农寺主簿，迁司农寺丞。开禧三年（1207）与谋诛韩侂胄，又欲去宰相史弥远，事泄，于嘉定四年十二月被除名象州编管，卒于是年后。张鎡出身华贵，能诗擅词，又善画竹石古木。尝学诗于陆游。尤袤、杨万里、辛弃疾、姜夔等皆与之交游。《齐东野语》载“其园池声妓服玩之丽甲天下”，又以其牡丹会闻名于世。
