译文
秋风就像凌厉凄冷的并刀，一派令人酸目的狂风，席卷呼啸而来声如怒涛。荆州一带少年们并马驰骋，长得粗犷豪放，躺卧栎林，醉后弯弓射击大雕。
微微醉意中回忆着荆轲高渐离，燕赵之地至今悲歌未消，回忆往昔而今仍觉易水凄寒，今天我又慷慨豪迈地跨过豫让桥。
注释
南乡子：词牌名，又名《好离乡》《蕉叶怨》。双调五十六字，上下片各四平韵。
邢州：今河北邢台。古时属的燕赵地区。
并（bīng）刀：古并州（山西北部）一带出产的刀具，以锋利著称。
一派：一片。
酸风：北风；指冬天的风，也指寒风。
三河年少客：指好气任侠之辈。三河：河东、河内、河南，在河南省北部、山西省南部一带。古属燕赵之地。
皂栎（lì）林：栎，树名，产于北方。杜甫《壮游》“呼鹰皂栎林”。注：地在齐地。
荆高：荆指荆轲。高指高渐离，此代指行侠仗义的刺客。
燕赵悲歌：指荆高送别事。韩愈《送董邵南序》：“燕赵古称多慷慨悲歌之士”。
易水：河名，在河北易县附近。
豫让桥：即豫让隐身伏击赵襄子之地，在邢台北，不存。

南乡子·邢州道上作创作背景
康熙七年（1668年），正值文字狱盛行之日，作者自北京南游开封、洛阳，此词可能是途中所作，且与《点绛唇·夜宿临洺驿》同时作。作者行至易水和豫让桥，这一年他四十四岁，想起当年荆轲、高渐雕的燕赵悲歌之事，尚为诸生，潦倒名场，壮志未酬，慷慨怀古，写下此词。

全词在行文上，前两句总述，后两句分叙，在分叙中又以“忆昨”和“今朝”的时间词标明，既说明词人在“邢州道上”的奔波进程，又可见诗人浮想联翩，情随景出的思绪，显得眉目清楚，词气贯注，再加上在抒情中熔叙事、怀古、议论于一炉，更给人以一气呵成之感。
上片写道中所见。起首二句写秋色阴冷，秋风劲厉。用并刀相比、冰肌刺骨，好象刀割，可谓想象奇特，比喻尖新。写风劲，不仅用“卷涛”的夸张描写，更用一个“酸”字加以渲染，就突出了秋风直射眸子的尖利、寒冷和惨烈感，两句词采用比喻、夸张、通感等艺术手法，生动地写出词人对严酷的自然环境的独特感受，从而为下文“三河年少客”的英雄豪举提拱了典型环境。后三句写“三河年少客”在林中骑射的情景。古称善射者为“射雕手”，在西风劲历，寒意刺骨的深秋，竟有英雄少年呼朋引伴、冒风冲寒，驰马弋射，这确是一种粗犷豪举，一个“醉”字，更是醉态淋漓，神情毕现，词人以赞赏的笔调刻画了这一幅深秋醉射图，形象生动风格雄健“粗豪”两字，更是感情贯注，笔力千钧。
下片写怀古心情，词用“残酒忆荆高”换头，字面上，从少年的“醉射”引出自己的“残酒”；内容上，从写所见转入怀古；感情上，从赞扬少年变为感叹自己，承上启下，过渡自然，一个“忆”字更是有力地领起下文“荆高”，指荆轲、高渐离，其实也包括豫让的事，这里只说两人，是为了押韵，二是限于字数不能遍举。接着词人回顾了春秋战国的两曲“燕赵悲歌”：一是关于荆轲和高渐离的事迹，二是豫让复仇报主的故事。两曲悲歌流传至今，使人激励，也使人叹息，这就是“事未消”的含义。词人触景怀思，心灵也深受震撼，因此，他乘车过易水时，深感其“寒”，这“寒”既是对自然气候的实写，也是历史往事的重现，更是词人内心感情的流露，这里有对荆、高壮志未酬的惋惜，也有对自己霜刃未试的伤感，但作者并不颓唐，在过豫让桥时忽多“慷慨”，这“慷慨”，是对豫让坚持复仇报主、耻于苟且偷生精神的赞扬，也是对自己不甘沉寂、勇于奋起的激励。作者缅怀三位壮士是借古人的悲壮事迹抒写自己心中的感慨，抒发壮怀激烈的雄心。慷慨豪气，力透纸背。

陈维崧(1625～1682)清代词人、骈文作家。字其年，号迦陵。宜兴（今属江苏）人。清初诸生，康熙十八年(1679)举博学鸿词，授翰林院检讨。54岁时参与修纂《明史》，4年后卒于任所。
