译文
从前曾几度和你离别，这一次分手我们都已在暮年。你的胡须已经全都白了，明天就要动身去淮南。
饮罢酒往回走时明月跟随着我，泪眼看花犹如迷蒙的云雾。盼望着他日明月也随你一同归来，想你的梦萦绕在这湖边的小路。
注释
生查子：唐教坊曲，后用为词牌名。
诉别：元本词题作“送苏伯固”，可从改。苏伯固：即苏坚，字伯固，泉州人，居丹阳。博学能诗，对人有风义。为钱塘丞，督开西湖，与苏轼唱和甚多。
三度别君来：谓三次与苏伯固作别。迟暮：比喻晚年，衰老。
髭（zī）须：胡须。
淮（huái）南：路名。宋太宗至道年间十五路之一。治所在扬州（今属江苏）。这里指扬州。
花如雾：谓老年头发花白，有如雾中看花。
逐：随。

生查子·诉别创作背景
此词作于宋哲宗元祐七年（1092年）八月词人在汴京任兵部尚书时。这是词人第三次送别友人苏伯固后，离别之情骤然涌上心头，便写下了这首送别词。

生查子·诉别鉴赏
上片“三度别君来，此别真迟暮”，说的是词人与苏伯固三次作别了，前次在泗上相别时，尚不得言真老，而这次分手可真正是衰老暮年了。两句倍写出与友人分别之苦，突出两人间的深厚情谊。“白尽老髭须，明日淮南去。”说的是友人不仅头发白了，连髭须也全白了；然而，当此衰老之年，词人却仍不能停歇与挚友欢聚一堂，明天却又要动身赴扬州任去了。可谓怆情无限，浅处见深。
下片“酒罢月随人，泪湿花如雾”，抒写别宴时的难舍难分和悲哀心境。月亮好像也知情义，它从开宴一直到酒罢，都跟随着游子们慢慢移动，不离左右，表现了夜宴的时间很长，各自依依不舍；而人已经是泪湿满面了，衰鬓影像模糊朦胧，好像在雾中看花一样，悲从中起，无可遏制。结语煞时化作期待的幻想：“后月逐君还，梦绕湖边路。”“梦绕”，用字精警，实谓恐怕再聚首也是在梦境里，前景渺茫了。
这是一首送别之作，全词紧扣一个“惜”字：惜之因，惜之状，惜之深，真情喷泻，哀怨递进，结构严紧，回环曲致，语浅意深，虚实互补。

苏轼（1037－1101），北宋文学家、书画家、美食家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。汉族，四川人，葬于颍昌（今河南省平顶山市郏县）。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为“唐宋八大家”之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡“士人画”。著有《苏东坡全集》和《东坡乐府》等。
