译文
傍晚，夕阳的余辉洒在平静的江水上，波光粼粼，沿江远远望去，只见两岸炊烟袅袅。
和友人一同欣赏着这令人陶醉的山水画图，似乎暂时忘却了离乡的悲愁。
滔滔江水，漫漫沙滩，和那峻峭的崖壁连接成一片，两岸的层峦叠嶂笼罩在沉沉暮霭之中。
呆呆地望着友人远去的归舟，陷入了深深的悲哀之中。

自已：抑制住自己的感情。已：停止。
慈姥矶诗鉴赏
这是一首写思乡之情的诗。
慈姥矶，在慈姥山麓。慈姥山，又名慈姆山，在今江苏省江宁县西南、安徽省当涂县北。《读史方舆纪要》卷二十“江宁府”条下云：“慈姥山，府西南百十里，以山有慈姥庙而名。积石临江，崖壁竣绝。一名鼓吹山，以山产箫管也。山下有慈姥溪，与太平府当涂县接界。旧志：慈姥港泄慈湖以东之水入江。近湖又有慈姥矶，今曰和尚港。”
这首诗写作者辞家出门，有友人送至矶下，时值傍晚，夕阳的余辉洒在平静的江水上，波光粼粼，沿江远远望去，只见两岸炊烟袅袅，充满诗情画意。作者和友人一同欣赏着这令人陶醉的山水画图，似乎暂时忘却了离乡的悲愁。送君千里，终有一别。送他的友人就要乘舟回去了。他望着远去的船儿，但见滔滔江水，漫漫沙滩，和那峻峭的崖壁连接成一片，两岸的层峦叠嶂笼罩在沉沉暮霭之中。面对这无穷的大自然，客居异乡的游子眼睛湿润了，一切都变得模糊了。他呆呆地望着友人远去的归舟，陷入了深深的悲哀之中。所以沈德潜说：“己不能归，而望他舟之归，情事黯然。”这是最令人难堪的了。
沈德潜又说：“水部名句极多，然渐入近体。”像这首诗的五、六两句，就是传诵千古的名句。杜诗“远岸秋沙白，连山晚照红。”即脱胎于此。“野岸平沙合”是近景，“连山远雾浮”是远景，写景状物，细微贴切，对仗工整，声韵合谐。特别是“合”字、“浮”字，用得极为精当，可谓形象传神。这也是何逊常用的句法，如《春夕早泊和刘咨议落日望水》诗云：“草光天际合，霞影水中浮。”而就整首诗的声律格调而论，已俨然唐律了。难怪沈德潜说：“五言律，阴铿、何逊、庾信、徐陵已开其体。”

南朝梁诗人，字仲言，东海郯(今山东省苍山县长城镇)人，何承天曾孙，宋员外郎何翼孙，齐太尉中军参军何询子。八岁能诗，弱冠州举秀才，官至尚书水部郎。诗与阴铿齐名，世号阴何。文与刘孝绰齐名，世称何刘。其诗善於写景，工于炼字。为杜甫所推许，有集八卷，今失传，明人辑有何水部集一卷。后人称"何记室"或"何水部"。
