译文
白少府带领戍卒将去陇右，行将分手远别，直奔临洮。
试问关山送兵之事，与在州县劳苦相比怎样？
士兵们身带赤羽之箭，使行进的军容更为雄壮，满山的树色青青，使身着青袍的白少府更为威武。
料想谁可俘虏匈奴强虏，将星高照，此行定能击败匈奴。
注释
白少府：名未详。陇（lǒng）右：指唐开元元年（713年）所置之陇右节度使，治鄯州（今青海乐都县），辖境相当今甘肃东南部及青海省青海湖以东地区。
践更（jiàn gēng）：古代服徭役时，轮到的人可以出钱雇人代替。受钱代人服役，叫“践更”。此指服役的士卒。陇首：陇山，在今陕西省陇县西北。
临洮（táo）：郡名，原称洮州。天宝元年更名为临洮郡，治所在今甘肃临潭，属陇右节度使。
关山事：指从军于关山隘口行役之事。
何如：何及，哪赶得上。州县劳：任州县劳顿之职。
赤羽：赤色旗帜。
树色：指树木的青绿色。青袍：指县尉之服。唐代不同级别的官员穿不同服色。
断单于臂：即斩断单于的右臂。单于：匈奴最高首领的称号，此指敌酋。古时地理方位，如面向南，则西为右，东为左。匈奴在北，面南，则西为右，故曰断其右臂。
太白：星座名，古时认为是将星。

送白少府送兵之陇右创作背景
这首诗是唐天宝十一载（752年）秋冬之际，高适离开长安，赴任陇右节度使哥舒翰幕中掌书记的途中，经陇山时所作。高适遇到向临洮送兵的白少府，看到浩浩荡荡的新兵队伍，不禁作下这首诗表达立功边塞的强烈愿望。

首联以明快的手法点明了作为远行者的友人此行的行程紧急，以及要去的目的地。以士卒五更即出发而登陇山，道出军情之急。二句中分别用一“登”字、“指”字，既示征途渺远，又显疾进之态。这位即将与诗人离别的远行者，与诗人分手之后，到天快亮、东方欲晓之时就要赶到陇山，攀援登临其山岗之上，而此行要到的地点则是处在遥远的西北边塞的临洮。这样开头，不但表明友人离别的匆忙，同时也表明行者GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>征人赶路的急迫。日夜兼程，行色匆匆，人马迅急，可见前方军情紧急，形势逼人。把这首诗中所描绘的GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>征人出征的景况与杜甫《兵车行》开头几句诗所展现的情景相比，是非常有意思的。杜诗云：“车辚辚，马萧萧，行人弓箭各在腰。耶娘妻子走相送，尘埃不见咸阳桥。牵衣顿足拦道哭，哭声直上干云霄。”而在高适的这首送别诗中则没有一点这种GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>征人出征，亲朋相送的场景描绘，有的只是义无反顾的豪雄气概。当然杜甫诗里出征的是士兵，而高适诗里远行的却是护送征夫的县尉，前者是被迫服役，后者则是渴望立功边塞而从军行役。这是两诗表现主旨根本不同的所在，从而其思想风格、情感色调也自然迥异。并且在表现手法上两诗也显然有所不同。杜诗是重墨铺染，而高诗则是概括精炼。“残更”、“远别”四字，用词就极为简洁，不但省去了惜别情景的展示，而且舍弃了行军途程中的一切耳闻目见，突出地表现了行人征夫一心一意手奔赴西北边塞以求建功立业的急切心情。一“登”一“指”又动态地表明了赴边的迅急与行者心情的紧迫。细玩其意，“远行”二字中似乎还包含着诗人的惜别之情。总之，诗人在这里留下了大量的空白，以引发读者丰富的审美联想。
颔联以“关山事”与“州县劳”对比，认为从军行役之“关山事”，还不如作“州县”之吏那么劳顿，一为高适有任封丘尉之痛苦经历，故有此言；二亦可见其对军旅生活之向往，表现了诗人心中隐隐的一种得意。行者所要踏上的行程，其自然条件毕竟是险恶的，征程也是艰辛的，所以承接首二句下来诗人又通过一个设问，使一开始就高昂激越的情调旋律得到一个回环，由此以表现诗人对行者此次远征的关切。此次远行是由县尉送兵赴边，更可见当时边塞战事的紧张，补充兵力已刻不容缓。这看似简单明白的一问，却含意丰富，既表现出诗人对行者从军行役路途艰苦的体贴关注与惜别难舍之意，同时又赞颂了行者不畏险难的豪迈情怀。感情真挚，态度诚恳，耐人细读。
颈联状疾进之军容，诗人通过想象所描绘出的行者送兵赴边途中的情景。赴边GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>征人军容严正，刀枪林立，人不离鞍，马不停蹄。姓白的县尉参与其中，从而使这疾行猛赶、奋勇挺进的行军队伍中忽隐忽现、忽前忽后地闪现着标志着县尉作为使臣所执旌节上的羽饰；而道路两旁的林木，苍苍的树色中也不时有县尉所穿青袍的闪现。诗人侧面着笔，以象征热情之“赤色”相衬，中间“随”字与“引”字锻炼极为生动，既刻画出行者随军奋勇前进，风尘仆仆的劳苦形象，更刻画了行者一往无前的气概，以其随身装束之色彩，传出士卒昂扬奋发之神态，从而给我们展现出一幅气势豪雄的千里行军图；“树色”碧绿，中间用一“引”字，使穿“青袍”之白少府和碧绿之“树色”妙合无垠，给人以满眼生机，以及白少府义气慷慨之奕奕神采。“随”、“引”二字，使诗歌具流走之势，紧扣行军特点。“赤”、“青”二色，亮丽鲜明，颇具青春气息。可谓达到人境浑一，诗画交融之境界。
尾联不直接表达唐军必胜的信念，而以“谁断单于臂”之反诘顿起，再以“今年太白高”作答，显示唐军居高临下，势如破竹之势，这里自然表现出高适此时的一腔豪情。语言响亮有力，用典浑化无迹，此种虚处传神，使诗歌含蕴更为深厚。
全诗的首联写白少府告别亲友带兵轮换到西北边地驻防时登临六盘山头，远离故乡直指河西临洮。颔联写自己作为守边官吏，烦劳地方官员为了关山战事辛苦带兵换防，实在是问心有愧，对不住人家。颈联却笔锋一转，语气豪迈：奔赴边关的将士们，军容齐整，红色箭羽紧随其身，在绿色的原野上青色战袍着身，格外耀眼夺目。言外之意是赞许白少府带兵有方，军势威猛。尾联诗人豪气冲天，尽显盛唐军人的气象：谁能砍断匈奴单于的臂膀，今年的太白星高悬，必有敌人进犯边境，杀敌报国，正等待着英武的军人和将士。

高适是我国唐代著名的边塞诗人，世称“高常侍”。 作品收录于《高常侍集》。高适与岑参并称“高岑”，其诗作笔力雄健，气势奔放，洋溢着盛唐时期所特有的奋发进取、蓬勃向上的时代精神。
