紫茎兮文波，红莲兮芰荷。绿房兮翠盖，素实兮黄螺。
于是妖童媛女，荡舟心许，鷁首徐回，兼传羽杯。櫂将移而藻挂，船欲动而萍开。尔其纤腰束素，迁延顾步。夏始春余，叶嫩花初。恐沾裳而浅笑，畏倾船而敛裾，故以水溅兰桡，芦侵罗袸。菊泽未反，梧台迥见，荇湿沾衫，菱长绕钏。泛柏舟而容与，歌采莲于江渚。
歌曰：“碧玉小家女，来嫁汝南王。莲花乱脸色，荷叶杂衣香。因持荐君子，愿袭芙蓉裳。”

译文
紫茎亭亭呵立于粼粼清波，红莲朵朵呵映衬重重芰荷。莲蓬作房屋呵荷叶作屋顶，莲籽儿洁白呵莲蓬如黄螺。
值此时节中的俊男美女，摇起船儿心中荡漾柔情。鷁形画船迂回慢进，雀状酒杯传递频频。水草挽住船桨不肯离去，浮萍移开偏为船儿放行。美女摆动娇柔的细腰，欲行又止几番回眸传情。夏季刚刚开始春意尚未散尽，鲜嫩的荷叶映衬着初开的荷花。生怕沾湿衣裳而低声浅笑，担心船儿倾覆而紧紧抓住衣襟。于是船桨击水缓缓向前，芦花点点飞上绫罗绣垫。荡舟湖上不思回返，梧台已经遥遥可见。带水的荇菜沾湿了衣衫，长长的菱草缠住了臂环。泛着柏木舟多么悠闲自在，水洲边放开歌喉唱一曲《采莲》。
歌唱道：碧玉姑娘本是小户人家之女，前来嫁给身世显贵的汝南王。莲花映衬着她的容貌，荷叶染上了她的衣香。手持莲花荷叶进献给君子，希望穿上用它制作的美丽衣裳。
注释
文波：微波。此句语本《楚辞·招魂》：“紫茎屏风，文缘波些。”
芰（jì）荷：出水荷叶。
绿房：指莲蓬。因莲房呈圆孔状间隔排列如房，故称。翠盖：形容荷叶圆大如帷盖。
素实：白色的莲籽。黄螺：莲蓬外形团团如螺，成熟后由绿渐黄，故称。
妖童：俊俏少年。媛女：美女。
心许：谓心中互有情意。
鷁（yì）首：船头。鷁是一种大鸟，古代常被画在船头作装饰。徐：缓缓。
羽杯：一种雀形酒杯，左右形如鸟羽翼。一说，插鸟羽于杯上，促人速饮。
櫂（zhào）：划船用的工具。代指船。一作“棹”。
束素：捆扎起来的白绢。形容女子细腰。素：白绢。
迁延：拖延。顾步：一边走一边回视。
敛裾（jū）：把衣襟紧抓成一团。形容害怕船倾的样子。裾：衣襟。
兰桡：兰木做的船楫。
罗袸（jiàn）：绫罗垫子。袸：同“荐”，垫子。
菊泽：指湖泊。菊字是藻饰词，芬芳之意。反：同“返”。
梧台：梧木搭建之台。梧木是良材。迥：远。
荇（xìng）：荇菜，水草名。
菱：水生草本植物。钏（chuàn）：臂环。
柏舟：柏木做的船只。容与：闲暇自得貌。
江渚：江边陆地。
碧玉：古乐府有《碧玉歌》，属《吴声曲辞》。郭茂倩《乐府诗集》四五引《乐苑》曰：“《碧玉歌》者，宋汝南王所作也。碧玉，汝南王妾名。”
荐：进献。
袭：衣上加衣。荚蓉裳：有莲花图案的衣裳。芙蓉是莲的别称。

采莲赋鉴赏
这篇小赋以状物传神见长。
全文可分三个层次。
首四句为第一层，以描写河中红莲开篇。淡紫的茎干出于绿水，微风吹来，拂起阵阵波纹。它擎起一团红莲，亭亭玉立，绿色荷叶为其扶枝。荷叶仿佛一面高大的翠盖，遮盖住绿色的苞蕊。丰硕的苞蕊中，藏着素白的莲子，它那丝丝黄瓣，仿佛轻盈的霓裳羽衣。短短四句，就像一个特写镜头，直逼夏水轻波中的荷花，把它的枝叶蕊实，全盘呈呈现出来。其描写笔法，细致准确，丝丝入扣，表现出相当高的白描技巧。
“于是妖童媛女”到“歌采莲于江渚”为第二层，将描写的镜头摇向远方，于是画面逐渐扩大，一幅夏日采莲图渐次展现。但见一群少男少女，轻舟荡桨而来，他们同心相映，杯酒传情。这段描写有两处特别入神。一是“棹将移而藻挂，船欲动而萍开”，写舟船泛于河中情景。兰棹将举，已被水藻牵挂；船身未移，浮萍早已漾开，宛然一艘水波荡漾中的画船，轻摆慢摇而来，整个画面因之全活。二是“恐沾裳丽浅笑，畏倾船而敛裾”，写船中男女调笑之态。其中“纤腰束素，迁延顾步。夏始春馀，叶嫩花初”，写少女的情态入神。“夏始春馀”喻其芳龄正盛，“叶嫩花初”喻其青春正美，都是未经人道的妙笔。但虽有胜日之高情雅趣，也不敢纵情任性，不敢开怀放声，因为着轻舟而荡兰桨，生怕动作大了，溅水沾了衣裳，甚至翻了船。因此，这一“浅笑”、“敛裾”，直把少女的神情心态，刻画得维妙维肖，仿佛身临其境。作者在这里用笔不轻不重，好像蜻蜓点水，妙处全在那漫不经心的漾漾涟漪之中，而文中人物之夏日情趣，突现于读者眼前。下面继续写船在水中行进的情态。“水溅兰桡，芦侵罗荐”，“荇湿沾衫，菱长绕钏”等语，无不是写船上人与水和水中的植物打交道，写得轻盈俏皮，似是芦苇荇菱特爱与人为难，别饶情趣。
最后一层，为五言六句小歌一阕，说他们泛舟的悠闲快活，然后女子唱起歌来，作画龙点睛式的渲染，碧玉小家女之形象，若隐若现，翩然而出。“莲花乱脸色，荷叶杂衣香”，以浑沌比拟手法，营造出一种错觉感受：莲花亦脸色，脸色亦莲花；衣亦荷，荷亦衣；衣香荷香，浑然一体。作者运用这种笔法，把碧玉女放在了绿一片、香满天的莲荷图中，在大自然的美景中点缀以人的精灵，造成一种美景美人浑然一体的胜境，产生了只可意会不可言传的美感效应，有美不胜收之感。
全篇以莲起，以莲结，而中间核心部分只写了少男少女的荡舟嬉游，似与主题“采莲”无干。实际上自”棹移”、“船动”以至“荇湿”、“菱长”等等，无不是采莲过程中的动态渲染，因为是暗写，使读者不觉。如果是明写如何如何采莲，反倒呆了。
赋，在东晋经过一段短暂的沉寂之后复呈崭新气象，到了梁代，赋风有所变化，文体以华美繁复著称，这篇文章属于那个时代的典型代表。全文语言整饬，首尾周全，换韵频繁，音节谐美。而其举体小巧轻灵，笔调婉娈多姿，闪现出玲珑剔透、潇洒飘逸之气。

（508—554）即元帝。字世诚，小字七符。南兰陵（今江苏常州）人。南朝梁武帝第七子。武帝天监十三年，封湘东王。命王僧辩平侯景，即位于江陵。时州郡大半入西魏，人户著籍，不盈三万。承圣三年，西魏军来攻，帝尚于龙光殿讲《老子》，百官戎服以听。魏军至，帝犹赋诗不废。及城陷，为魏人所杀。在位三年，庙号世祖。帝幼盲一目，好读书，工书善画，藏书十四万卷，城破时自行焚毁。所作诗赋轻艳绮靡，与兄纲相仿。著作颇多，原有集，已散佚，今存《金楼子》及《梁元帝集》辑本。
