译文
不到嵩阳转眼过去十年，从前隐居的心事已经徒然。
一二位老朋友不能相见，少室山的三十六峰还在眼前。
夷门的初春二月柳条泛绿，流莺数声令人热泪沾衣。
凿井而饮耕田而食不招我，知道你以此来忘掉帝力。
山人一心前往嵩阳路，只留下无穷眷念长久回忆。
注释
杨山人：具体事迹不详，李白亦有《送杨山人归嵩山》诗，写的应是同一人。嵩阳：隋唐时县名，在嵩山之南；唐武后时期改称登封（今属河南）。
动：近。
心事：指欲隐居嵩阳之事。徒然：枉然，空然，意谓不能实现。
三十六峰：嵩山有三十六峰。犹眼前：依然还在眼前。
夷门：战国大梁的城门。在今河南开封县城内。战国时魏国的贤士侯赢为夷门监者。
流莺：莺鸟。流，谓其鸣声圆转。
不我招：即不招我之意。
帝力：帝王的作用，指皇权统治。
眷眷：同睠睠，反顾的样子，表示心里顾念很深。

送杨山人归嵩阳创作背景
从诗中“夷门二月柳条色”一句，可以推断出这首诗写于大梁，因为夷门是战国时代魏国都城大梁的东门。至于这首诗的写作时间，有不同说法。有人认为作于天宝三载（744）；有人认为李白与高适两首同题诗，都是天宝四载（745）五月后所作。兹从天宝四载之说，但从诗中的“二月柳条色”推断，此诗应是在该年春二月左右所写。
