译文
清清的江水长又长，到哪里是尽头？夕阳向西落下孤零零的船儿解开了缆索。
群鸟在田野上飞翔一忽儿近一忽儿远，闲人在船上听凭溪水飘荡忽东忽西。
洁白的云朵飘浮在空中有一千里一万里，皎洁的月光照耀着山前的溪水山后的溪水。
从长沙又遭贬谪离开那里令人伤感失意，怀人的情思像江岸潭边的香草那样浓郁。
注释
苕（tiáo）溪：水名。一名苕水。由浙江天目山的南北两麓发源，至小梅、大浅两湖口入太湖。酬：赠答。梁耿：刘长卿的朋友，中唐书法家。
永路：长路，远路
解携：犹言分手。解：原作“自”，据《全唐诗》改。
平芜：杂草繁茂的田野
前溪：在湖州乌程县境。
长沙谪去：用贾谊事，贾谊遭权贵谗毁，被汉文帝贬为长沙王太傅，见《史记·屈原贾生列传》。谪：被贬职。
芳草：香草，也比喻思念他人。
萋萋(qi)：原作“凄凄”，据《唐诗品汇》、《全唐诗》改。草长得茂盛的样子。

苕溪酬梁耿别后见寄鉴赏
这首诗是刘长卿被贬时所作，表达了作者的悲愤愁苦之情。全诗景中含情，笔致清婉，结句虽含慰藉，意实深悲，伤感之情，寄于言外。
前四句以写景为主，但景中含情。这里晴川、落日、孤舟、归鸟和远行的人，组成一幅江晚送别图。
“清川永路何极？落日孤舟解携。”这两句是作者回忆了数年前因友人梁耿被贬谪远离时，在苕溪为之饯行的情景，他以送别时眼前的“清川”落笔。清川长长，与梁耿的去路一样，不知到那里才是终点？落日时分，孤舟在川，两人只得分手。“落日”预示暮色的将临，给人的联想是前途黑暗；“孤舟”所呈现的是凄凉无助，它标志着人生境遇的险恶；这两句将这凄凉的环境气氛和人的悲苦心情极好的衬托出来了。
“鸟向平芜远近，人随流水东西。”这两句描写了别后情景，远处近处的归鸟，飞向平芜深处，渐渐没有踪影，入随着流水，各分东西。这里，设景有象征意义，鸟飞平芜，渐渐隐没，象喻梁耿远去；溪水东西流，象喻人之离别，景中有情。友人离别后的惜别怅惘的心情，都在离别的场景中透露出来。情含景中，情景交融，含蓄地抒写离情别绪，感人肺腑。
后四句以抒情为主，托物寓意。白云、明月、春草无不寄托着诗人的情思。
“白云千里万里，明月前溪后溪。”千里万里，白云迷蒙，这是梁耿远去贬所沿途云路漫漫的情景，也是他心路迷茫的真实写照。前溪后溪，明月朗照，这是诗人留在送别地望月思友的情景。也是诗人自己的感想。作者这里是说尽管与友人相隔“千里万里”之遥，但飘然浮动、连绵不断的白云却可传载友谊；在同样皎洁的月光照耀下，使人感到相距再远，也只是“前溪后溪”之隔。浓厚的友谊跨越了巨大的空间界限，以白云与月光为纽带，将其二人紧紧连在一起。此句写得深情而婉转，真切感人。
“惆怅长沙谪去，江潭芳草萋萋。”这句点明他此次远行的原因，远谪长沙，梁耿固然惆怅不已，诗人也感到惆帐，为他的远谪感叹不已。这里十分坦白地写出作者对友人遭贬的不平与愤慨。而作者自己，不也遭受了同样的不幸。这是“同是天涯沦落人”的悲愤之语。“江潭芳草萋萋。”写出作者眼前景色。他驰骋的心绪回到现实中来，眼望无尽的芳革，倍感茫然凄凉，心中的愁苦也正如这春草一样延绵不断，杏无尽头。

刘长卿(约726 — 约786)，字文房，汉族，宣城（今属安徽）人，唐代诗人。后迁居洛阳，河间（今属河北）为其郡望。玄宗天宝年间进士。肃宗至德中官监察御史，后为长洲县尉，因事下狱，贬南巴尉。代宗大历中任转运使判官，知淮西、鄂岳转运留后，又被诬再贬睦州司马。德宗建中年间，官终随州刺史，世称刘随州。
