译文
亭台楼馆，连绵不断，与城相接，规模超过了东晋的谢家；园中四季如春，百花斗妍，如云似霞。
推开小窗，迎面是一大片修竹，苍翠欲滴；踱出园门，毗邻有一大块瓜田，景色如画。
禽鸟相亲相近，你呼我答；满树的繁花相续，香气弥漫，清幽淡雅。
我尽情地游赏着园中的美景，无牵无挂；喝醉了酒，等待着月亮西落，参星横斜。
注释
金乡：今山东金乡县。
谢家：东晋谢安家。
明霞：彩霞。
东陵饮食瓜：秦末东陵侯召平，秦王后，为饮食，种瓜长安东门外，瓜味甜美，俗称东陵瓜。
无留事：没有闲事牵挂。

金乡张氏园亭创作背景
诗人石延年天圣四年（1026）三十三岁时，出任山东金乡县令，公务之余受邀游名胜张氏园，给主人题赠《金乡张氏园亭》这首七律诗。

金乡张氏园亭鉴赏
这首金乡张氏园亭是他在宋仁宗天圣四年的时候应张氏园亭的主人之约而写的。全诗的佳处在于生动的描写。诗歌的前四句利用典故阐明了张氏花园的富庶与高雅。“亭馆连城敌谢家”，开首便气势恢宏，将张氏园亭的繁华述说殆尽。亭台楼阁像城墙一样绵延起伏，勾勒出一条触目的天际线，谢家指的是东晋的谢氏大家族。曾经富甲一方，经营东南，世代为冠带豪门。张氏园亭既然如此繁华恢弘，其四季的风景也足以和天上的彩霞之美一比高下。
在首联的铺陈之后，诗人笔锋一转，跳出描写富贵离不开满堂金玉的窠臼，将笔触伸到了隐士的故事上去。高层的文人不仅仅要有丰富的物质生活．还必须有高雅的情调。颔联的“窗迎西渭封侯竹，地接东陵隐士瓜”，接连用了两个《史记》里的典故，《货殖列传》里说：“陈夏千亩漆，齐鲁千亩桑麻，渭JlI千亩竹……此其人皆与千户侯等，然是富给之资也，不窥市井，不行异邑，坐而待收，身有处士之义而取给焉。”东陵隐士瓜的典故来源于《史记·萧相国世家》，里面说“故秦东陵侯，秦破为布衣，贫，种瓜于长安城东，瓜美，故世俗谓之东陵瓜。”在这里引用这两个典故是说明张氏园亭的主人不仅富裕非常，而且有高雅的隐士之风。
诗歌的颈联“乐意相关禽对语，生香不断树交花”是历来被人称颂的佳句，这句诗将园林中鸟禽对语，鲜花争相斗艳的情景活灵活现地描写了出来。
尾联与颈联之意相同，并抒发诗人的情感。园中景色迷人，主任又是如此好客，而我呢，有无政务缠身，正好在园中尽兴玩赏，与主人一醉方休，直至参横月落，再领略园中的夜景。此联一句直抒喜悦无比的心情，二句进一步拓展延伸白天所见美景，虚构最后夜园景色更让人陶醉，“醉”暗说园主人待客热情。此联回应首联写得面面俱到，情意深长。
这首诗虽是写游园，尽情刻画园林美丽，但写出了景物情意交融的境界，另辟蹊径的写作技巧，使人读后顿感无情之物有深情，全诗虽一字未提到园主人，但园主人无时不在陪伴你在园中赏玩。此诗用典密切景情，体制章法严谨细密，对偶工稳，是宋初诗“每首必有一联工，又多在景联，晚唐之定例也”的典范。

石延年（994～1041）北宋官员、文学家、书法家。字曼卿，一字安仁。原籍幽州（今北京市一带）人，后晋把幽州割让给契丹，其祖举族南迁，定居于宋城（今河南省商丘南）。屡试不中，真宗年间以右班殿直，改太常寺太祝，累迁大理寺丞，官至秘阁校理、太子中允。北宋文学家石介以石延年之诗，欧阳修之文，杜默之歌称为“三豪”。
