译文
岸边的杨柳青翠茂盛，野鸟在那里藏其行踪。鸥鹭站在溪边觅食与世无争。近在咫尺的钟山被云雾遮盖，时隐时现显得朦朦胧胧。
对着水面整理我的乌纱帽，水中可以看到我两鬓稀疏花白的倒影。故乡被金人占领，我的心情为此悲伤沉重，可无奈我人远在天涯无力可用。时光如梭，几日未来春天就已过尽，原来含苞欲放的桃花，眼下竟然已经残败凋零。
注释
岸柳可藏鸦：指已近暮春，浓密的柳条可以让野鸟筑巢。
咫尺：距离很近。钟山：即紫金山，在今江苏南京市东。
乌纱：即乌纱帽，官帽。有时也为平民所服。
两鬓苍华：两鬓已有了白发。

浪淘沙·岸柳可藏鸦创作背景
《景定建康志》卷一八载：“节使吴公琚游清溪。有词呈野亭马公，野亭跋其后云：‘秦淮海之词，独擅一时，字未闻；米宝晋善诗，然终不及字。若公可兼之矣。辛酉季春，承议郎充江南东路转运司主管文字马之纯谨书。”’据此可知，此词是宋宁宗嘉泰元年（1201年）吴琚游览清溪时所作。

浪淘沙·岸柳可藏鸦鉴赏
上片以叙景开头，晚春时分，漫步在静静流淌的小溪边，岸上的柳树已经繁茂得可以遮挡住停歇、嬉戏的鸟儿。顺流而下，突然小路一转，清溪斜在面前，呈现在眼前的是另一番景象：忘机鸥鹭停立在汀沙上。其实，鸥鹭哪里有什么“忘机”的境界，分明是将情怀寄托于此。据《庄子·天地》载，灌圃者说：“有机械者必有机事，有机事者必有机心。机心存于胸中则纯白不备。纯白不备则神生不定，神生不定者，道之所不载也。”意思是存在机诈权变的心计就会丧失纯朴洁白的品质，以致心神不灵，这是为天道所不容的。庄子应该是最早也是最彻底的一位认为“回到自然”才是恢复或解放“人性”的思想家，人在日益被“物”所统治，被自己的财富、权势、野心、贪欲所统治。所以，中国文人要达到“不物于物”的精神境界，忘机鸥鹭便成为人们美好追求的化身。
下片笔锋一转，思绪回到了现实，以水为镜，重整鸟纱，更是振奋精神，但水中映射的身影却又一次使他陷入沉思，两鬓灰白，时比一去不复返，当时的壮志情怀竟一时无处舒展，心有不甘，但年华已老，郁闷、幽怨之情无以言表。人生几十年如白驹过隙，转瞬即逝，词人望着眼前的春景，不禁感慨几日不来便觉晚春已至，怎耐得桃化也开了呢。恐怕并不是”春色老”，而是心已老、人已疲了。桃花不知人意，花开花谢自有其理，而文人此时感物伤怀多足闲仕途不顺，无法报效国家而致。

吴琚（约公元1189年前后在世）南宋书法家，字居父，号云壑，汴（今河南开封）人。生卒年均不详，约宋孝宗淳熙末前后在世。主要活动于孝宗、光宗和宁宗三朝。太宁郡王、卫王吴益之子，宋高宗吴皇后之侄。性寡嗜，日临古帖以自娱。习吏事。乾道九年（1173）以恩荫授临安通判。其后历尚书郎，镇安军节度使。复知明州，兼沿海制置使。宁宗时，知鄂州，再知庆元府。尝使金，金人重其信义。位至少师，判建康府兼保守，世称“吴七郡王”。卒，谥忠惠。
