译文
浅红色的桃花，落英缤纷，此情此景引发了主人公青春易逝的感伤。主人公站在装饰华美的楼房里，待酒宴结束，宾客都走了，独自凭栏以解愁忧。
夕阳下芳草绵延千里，就连贵族子弟也不免烦忧。转眼间已到黄昏时分，明月下，不知何处传来的幽幽笙咽，栏前伫立着的是无语人。
注释
冷（cēng）红：淡红，这里指代桃花。
阑（lān）珊（shān）：残，将尽。
画楼：装饰华美的楼房。
萋（qī）萋：草木茂盛貌。
王孙：王的子孙，后泛指贵族子弟。
凤笙（shēng）：即笙。本指四寸长、十二簧的笙，因其像凤之身，故称为“凤笙”。
阑干，最早指一种竹子木头或者其他东西编织的一种遮挡物。

临江仙·冷红飘起桃花片创作背景
中主保大二年五年，冯延巳被罢去官职，开始了三年的贬谪生涯。在抚州，也就是现在的江西临川，远离金陵，愁绪满怀。暮春时分，冯延巳写下《临江仙·冷红飘起桃花片》以表达满腹忧愁。

临江仙·冷红飘起桃花片鉴赏
起句“冷红飘起桃花片，青春意绪阑珊。”昭示人们已到了暮春三月，春天即将过去，象喻着南唐小朝廷的败落已初露端倪。
“画楼帘幕卷轻寒”，象喻富丽堂皇的宫室已包孕着难以摆脱的令人寒心的隐患。酒余人散后，由喧闹归于寂静，更增添了主人公孤寂的心绪，独自凭栏以解愁忧。
“夕阳千里连芳草，萋萋愁煞王孙。”紧承上片，叙写远眺所见。夕阳下芳草绵绵，牵动着主人公的愁绪。
最后两句“凤笙何处，明月照黄昏”点明时间已由夕阳转到了黄昏，主人公在栏前凭望的时间就可想而知了。溶溶月光下，主人公独自一人凭栏忧伤。整个境界是那么的静谧、孤凄、又带着难以言说的忧愁和感伤。
这首词的最大特点是写愁的不确定性和朦胧性。词中的忧愁，写来迷茫朦胧，含而不露。词中的忧愁“闲情”，常常很难确指是什么性质的忧愁，从而留给读者更大的自由创造联想的空间。《临江仙·冷红飘起桃花片》是言情之作，突破了词人一己抒怀的迹象，开始触及人生的苦闷，咏叹世事的坎坷，不期然地揭示出人生路上多困难，自己独自面对需要归属的人生哲理。

冯延巳 （903--960）又名延嗣，字正中，五代广陵（今江苏省扬州市）人。在南唐做过宰相，生活过得很优裕、舒适。他的词多写闲情逸致辞，文人的气息很浓，对北宋初期的词人有比较大的影响。宋初《钓矶立谈》评其“学问渊博，文章颖发，辩说纵横”，其词集名《阳春集》。
