译文
在后妃居住的幽深的房里；灯光照着绘有图画的屏风，屏风上的山色一片浓绿，显得格外古雅庄重。听见冰冷的夜雨敲打芭蕉声，惊断了房里她的好梦；醒来看见攀龙香炉的香烟，在绣花缎被上空飘升。失去了皇帝的恩宠啊，她已久住长信宫中，帷帐里萧条凄冷；原来的椒殿闲置无用，门儿关锁冷冷清清。
皇帝车驾来的路上，长满了苔藓一层。绣帘默默地低垂，过很长时间才听见，一声更漏传进宫中。她的容颜木槿花似的，憔悴在不知不觉之中。她羞于梳理乌黑的发髻，独坐呆望满面愁情；伤感的目光注视之处，皇帝乘坐的车渐渐失去行踪。不知何时才能盼到，皇帝仪仗重临再降恩宠?啊，她正在悲苦地心驰神往，翠绿的梧桐又移动了阴影。
注释
此为现存文人词中最早的长调，写宫女的怨情。
洞房：深邃的内室。
画屏二句：形容室内屏风上所画山色。凝翠，凝聚着绿色。沉沉，茂盛、浓重貌。
惊断句：谓雨打芭蕉，惊醒宫中女子的好梦。
龙烟：龙脑香燃烧时散发的烟气。龙脑，又称瑞脑、冰片，系从龙脑香树干中提取膏汁制成。
辞恩句：谓失宠。长信，汉宫名。
椒殿句：谓宫门常闭。椒殿，后妃居住的宫殿，以椒和泥涂壁，取温香多子之义扁，关闭。
辇路：帝王车驾经行的道路，因久不临幸，故生青苔。
迟迟句：谓更漏声缓慢地传入宫禁，形容夜长难耐。漏，古代以铜壶滴漏计时，多称玉漏。丹禁：古代宫禁涂以红色，故称。
舜华：即木槿，夏秋开花，朝开暮敛，古人多形容青春易逝。一作舜华。
翠鬟羞整：谓羞于梳妆。翠梁，指黑发。哭，环形发式。
金舆：帝王的车驾。
彩仗：帝王的仪仗。
消魂：又作销魂。形容极度的悲伤，愁苦。

八六子·洞房深鉴赏
辇路苔侵。绣帘垂，迟迟漏传丹禁。
杜牧的这首八六子是一首宫怨词，词的上片着力刻画环境的孤寂、冷清，下片情与景交错而行，写出弃妃心中的希望、惆帐、寂寞与无奈，整首词铺叙委婉，时而抒情，时而布景，井然有致。
“洞房深，画屏灯照，山色凝翠沉沉。”起拍三句，写居室所在庭院深深，室内陈设华丽、气氛凄清。“灯照”，点明此处所写为夜间景况；画屏，指屏风，在灯光映照之下，上面所画山水色调显得凝重沉着。“深”、“凝”、“沉沉”四字，渲染了夜中女主人公居室氛围的典雅凝重的特征。
“听夜雨冷滴芭蕉，惊断红窗好梦，龙烟细飘绣衾。”三句，写出客观环境的幽静清凉。“冷滴”一语，写出女主人公的神经极其敏感，若为无牵无挂之人，纵使雨打芭蕉，也不至于转眼便被惊醒；“红窗”之“红”字，色彩明亮，同前所写“深”、“凝”、“沉”等字形成对照，象征凝重的压抑的氛围中主人公孤独的心理只有在“红窗好梦”中才有片时解脱；被相思之苦所缠绕的女主人公刚刚幸得入眠，可作好合之梦，不料竟被雨打芭蕉惊断，此种心境可想而知。而梦醒之后，但见那龙形香炉中冒出的烟雾弥漫室内、沾满锦被，无限哀思有如袅袅薰烟不断上升消散，愈见其凄清之意。“龙烟”是指攀龙香炉内所燃香料之烟，飘渺而至，笼罩绣衾，若有若无，虚虚实实。这高贵典雅的环境衬托出女主人公的身份，也衬托出其心境。
“辞恩久归长信，凤帐萧疏，椒殿闲扇。”点明女主人公身份是已失宠之宫妃。“长信宫”多为失宠后妃居处代称，屡屡出现于唐人诗中。词中的“久归”，点明自己失宠日久，因而“凤帐”形同虚设、宫门常关闭不开。“椒殿闲扇”是说她至长信宫后，原来居处已被锁起闲置。
“辇路苔侵。”过片一句，青苔长满了皇帝车驾的必行之路，说明皇帝久已不行幸，与上片之”辞恩久归长信”相呼应，以形象的画面揭示宫妃的冷落处境。
“绣帘垂，梧桐又移翠阴”一句结语，虽未点明这种企望又要落空，但时光不待，桐阴转移，女主人公仍陷在心驰神往的一厢情愿悲苦之中。
全词所写虽不过是描绘宫妃失宠望幸的情态，但其借助环境渲染烘托表述人物心态的手法却很有独特之处。其形象细腻的描绘笔触显示了作者状物摹情的艺术功力，通篇读来婉转缠绵，曲折幽深。
