朱穆（100～163）字公叔，一字文元，东汉南阳郡宛（今河南南阳市）人，丞相朱晖之孙。初举孝廉。顺帝末，大将军梁冀使典兵事。桓帝时任侍御史。感时俗浇薄，作《崇厚论》、《绝交论》。永兴初，出任冀州刺史，镇压起事灾民。后触犯宦官，罚作刑徒，因千人上书为之鸣不平，赦归。居乡数年，复拜尚书。上书请除宦官未成，忧愤死。
