约公元一一四七年前后在世]字弥性，江都（今江苏扬州）人。生卒年均不详，约宋高宗绍兴中前后在世。幼好学强记，其母尝屏其所观书，几上仅余台历一册，明旦默记，纤悉不误。高宗绍兴二年（一一三二）进士，调平江府学教授。五年，通判湖州。七年，以张浚荐召至阙，为秦桧所阻，出通判镇江府。十六年，为言者所劾，降二官（《建炎以来系年要录》卷一五五），自是闲退二十年。孝宗隆兴元年（一一六三），擢光禄丞，晚知蕲州。
