房孺复，房琯子，河南偃师人。少黠慧，年七八岁，即粗解缀文，亲党奇之。稍长，狂疏傲慢，任情纵欲。年二十，淮南节度陈少游辟为从事，多招阴阳巫觋，令扬言已过三十必为宰相。德宗幸奉天，包佶掌赋于扬州，少游将抑夺之。佶闻而奔出，少游方遣人劫佶令回，孺复请行，会佶已过江南，乃还。及少游卒，浙西节度韩滉又辟入幕。其长兄宗偃先贬官岭下而卒，及丧柩到扬州，孺复未尝吊。贞元十三年九月卒，时年四十二。
