苏渊雷（1908～1995），原名中常，字仲翔，晚署钵翁，又号遁圆。1908年10月23日，苏渊雷出生于浙江省平阳县玉龙口村（现属苍南县钱库镇）。专治文史哲研究,对佛学研究独到，尤洞悉禅宗。解放前曾任上海世界书局编辑所编辑、中央政治学校教员、立信会计专科学校国文讲席、中国红十字总会秘书兼第一处长等职。1995年去世前为上海华东师范大学教授、中国佛教协会常务理事。
