芮麟生于1909年，卒于1965年，字子玉，号玉庐，江苏无锡人，诗人、作家和文艺理论家，在二十世纪三十年代与林语堂、赵景深等齐名。芮麟的文学作品以写作文学评论、山水游记和格律诗为主。其游记文学尤具特色，对中国现代山水文学创作贡献极大 。其山水文学类著作主要有《自然的画图》、《山左十日记》、《东南环游记》、《北国纪游》、《中原旅行记》、《青岛游记》等。
