往昔朱子颍，豪才起燕赵。向我道君才，五言几谢朓。
子颍贫无食，子亦家集蓼。相从邗沟曲，吟和觞清醥。
我时隔京师，想见姣人僚。丙申至江都，遂得访窈窱。
其时子颍贵，冠盖颇丛绕。君顾无所干，陋巷闭门悄。
扣阖就谈诗，但觉风袅袅。舟乏仲举同，书绝巨源嬲。
独荷时见阿，累投珠玉皛。惜哉近子舍，摄提仅三肇。
我归子颍罢，旧迹如逝鸟。一别二十年，中未脱尘扰。
澄怀实愧君，高与秋旻杳。子出谅不能，吾游尚可绍。
行当一相就，帆挂横江淼。昨得郎君书，已设韬练旐。
岂但悲友生，问道苦不了。君疾正月初，一榻儿女绕。
呼与告逝期，屈指七日劋。届时一笑亡，何尝贰寿夭。
衔哀远吊君，谅为君所小。那复弄毫翰，繁词报刘沼。

姚鼐（nài）（1731～1815）清代著名散文家，与方苞、刘大櫆并称为“桐城三祖”。字姬传，一字梦谷，室名惜抱轩（在今桐城中学内），世称惜抱先生、姚惜抱，安徽桐城人。乾隆二十八年（1763）中进士，任礼部主事、四库全书纂修官等，年才四十，辞官南归，先后主讲于扬州梅花、江南紫阳、南京钟山等地书院四十多年。著有《惜抱轩全集》等，曾编选《古文辞类纂》。
