刘清之，[公元？年至一一九o年左右]字子澄，江西临江人。生年不详，约卒于宋光宗绍熙元年。受业于兄靖之。甘贫力学，博极书传。绍兴二十七年，（公元一一五七年）举进士第。历知宜黄县。周必大荐于孝宗，得召对，改太常主簿。除通判鄂州，改衡州。光宗即位，起知袁州。适清之疾作，犹贻书执政论国事。初，清之欲应博学宏词科，及见朱熹，尽取所习焚之，慨然有志于义理之学。清之著有曾子内外杂篇、训蒙新书、外书、戒子诵录、庄总录、祭仪、诗令书、续说苑、文集、农书等，并传于世。
