永乐七年春二月，余以扈从北巡，给赐内厩兔色马一匹，
盖朝鲜所贡也。
神骏超越，异于凡马，经数千里若有余力。
予闻古良马有赤兔之名，故作《神兔歌》以赞之。
天厩名马不易得，凤臆龙鬐秋兔色。
圉官厮养十载余，云昔来自朝鲜国。
想当此马初生时，蛟龙降精雷雨垂。
房星夜堕水尽赤，云雾下绕灵风吹。
雄姿逸态真神骏，踠促蹄高双耳峻。
目光夹镜炯方瞳，汗血流珠腻红晕。
朝鲜得此不敢骑，覆以黄毡献赤墀。
乃知天厩尽龙种，如此万匹皆权奇。
令晨鞲出迥殊绝，扈从銮舆自超越。
朝趋远蹴交河冰，夕秣骄嘶蓟城月。
君不见骅骝肃霜古亦多，老不一试将奈何。
驽骀无力枉蝶躞，俗马有肉空嵯峨。
平生怜尔独遭遇，绣勒金鞍照琼署。
相期慎保不凡姿，万里长随六龙驭。

曾棨（1372-1432） 字子棨，号西墅，江西永丰人。明永乐二年状元，人称“江西才子”。其为人如泉涌，廷对两万言不打草稿。曾出任《永乐大典》编纂。曾棨工书法，草书雄放，有晋人风度。
