草堂者，盖因自然之谿阜，前当墉洫；资人力之缔构，
后加茅茨。将以避燥湿，成栋宇之用；昭简易，
叶乾坤之德，道可容膝休闲。谷神同道，此其所贵也。
及靡者居之，则妄为剪饰，失天理矣。词曰：
山为宅兮草为堂，芝兰兮药房。罗蘼芜兮拍薜荔，
荃壁兮兰砌。蘼芜薜荔兮成草堂，阴阴邃兮馥馥香，
中有人兮信宜常。读金书兮饮玉浆，童颜幽操兮不易长。

卢鸿一（?一740前后）唐画家、诗人，著名隐士。一名鸿，字浩然，一字颢然，本幽州范阳（今河北涿县东北）人，徙居洛阳，后隐居嵩山（今登封市）。博学，善篆籀，工八分书，能诗。画山水树石，得平远之趣，与王维相当。卢鸿回山后，聚徒五百余人，讲学于草堂之中，成为一时之盛。自绘其胜景为《草堂十志图》，有摹本，图录于《故宫名画三百种》。《全唐诗》录存其骚体诗十首，名《嵩山十志》，为描写嵩山十景、歌咏自己的隐逸生活之作。
