方文（1612---1669）字尔止，号嵞山，原名孔文，字尔识，明亡后更名一耒，别号淮西山人、明农、忍冬，安徽安庆府桐城人，今桐城市区凤仪里人。方大铉长子。明末诸生，入清不仕，靠游食、卖卜、行医或充塾师为生，与复社、几社中人交游，以气节自励。方文之诗前期学杜，多苍老之作；后期专学白居易，明白如话，长于叙事，早年与钱澄之齐名，后与方贞观、方世举并称“桐城三诗家”，著有《嵞山集》。
