区怀年，字叔永。高明人。大相仲子。明熹宗天启元年(一六二一)贡生，任太学考通判。明思宗崇祯九年（一六三六）入都候选，以内艰回籍，后授翰林院孔目。归卧云石，学赤松游，日以赓和撰述为事。著有《玄超堂藏稿》、《击筑吟》诸集。清光绪《高明县志》卷一三有传。
