原名紫文，字少槎，号曼生，又号曼仙，元灏子，同治丙寅岁贡。著有独学庵诗草。少槎姑丈为月槎先生令子。悔余老人宅相才高学博，弱冠知名，有诗书画三绝之称，惟恃才傲物不谐于俗。惜中年以前诗作，散佚殆尽，友人陈季鸣竭力搜罗，得若干首为一集，并从燕侨斋偶存稿中得序一篇，冠之于首以待梓云。
