木人石心的典故

故事晋朝有个名士叫夏统；多才善辩，很有名气。当时，许多人劝他出来做官，都被他拒绝了。

一次他到京城洛阳，太尉贾充想利用他的才学和名望来增加自己的势力，于是就劝他到自己身边来任职，不想也被他婉言谢绝了。贾充不甘心，他调来整齐的军队，装饰上华丽的车马，吹着响亮的号角，从夏统面前走过。贾充对夏统说：“如果你同意到我身边来做官，就可以指挥这些军队，乘坐这样华美的车子，那该多么让人羡慕阿！”

夏统对眼前豪华显赫的场面就像没有看见似的，根本不动心。

贾充仍不死心，又招来一班仙姿绰约的美女，在夏统面前轻歌曼舞，而夏统却木然而立，毫不动摇。贾充看到这些全然打动不了夏统的心，不理解他说：“天下竟有这样的怪人！真像木头做的人，石头做的心啊！”
