尾生抱柱的成语故事

基本解释相传尾生与女子约定在桥梁相会，久候女子不到，水涨，乃抱桥柱而死。典出《庄子·盗跖》。后用以比喻坚守信约。

尾生抱柱的典故

古代传说坚守信约的人尾生一生特别信守诺言，只要说过的话就一定要做到。一天他与一个心爱的女子相约在梁下相见，该女子没有按期来。突然天降暴雨，水漫到他的腰间，他还是痴心等待，信守他的诺言，结果水把他淹死了。
